This season is all about drawing our fashion inspiration from decades gone by as the trends of the 90’s and 70’s continue to dominate the catwalks and high street.
I’m a huge fan of both decades’ styles, in particular the bohemian style pieces of the 70’s that are of ‘the moment’.
To master this trend look to the 70’s style icons Joni Mitchell & Stevie Nicks for inspiration, whilst patchwork prints, floaty mini and maxi dresses and suede are a must.
I recently picked up this hippie-tastic dress from Topshop in the sale (a steal at £18 down from £29 – you buy it yourself here).
With its quirky dandelion print, this dress combines another of the season’s big trends – floral – which is another personal fave of mine!
I love how the print and palette has an oriental feel which makes it really stand out.
The light jersey material is comfortable and flattering too – hugging in all the right with the places before kicking out at the skirt. I added this vintage style belt to accentuate the waist.
For the ultimate in 70’s boho chic, I teamed the dress with my vintage coat that was handed to me from my mama (the perks of having stylish parents right?!), a 40’s number she picked up in the 80’s- and my knee high tan leather boots are c/o Jones Bootmaker.
For dinner with my great friend Nicci Topping, Casting Director and all-round amazing lady, I donned the coat again and this time paired it with an Aztec meets peacock print style skirt and black semi sheer vest with lace detail. I adore Nicci’s 70’s inspired look-she always looks amazing.
