After years of contouring, strobing, baking, matte pouts and Scouse brows, 2017’s beauty trends will see us adopting a more natural look.
Feminine, ethereal and minimalist were the make up looks that dominated the SS17 catwalks. It’s all about letting your natural beauty shine through and focusing on one statement feature such as striking eyes or bright lips.
This is where the rather fabulous Boots Natural Collection comes in. I’m a huge fan of this brand (I recently shared my day to evening make up look using their range) and have been using it for months.
Natural Collection’s products as their name suggests are designed to give you an au natural look, making them the ideal brand to update your make up bag this year. What’s more, not only are they incredible quality, they’re also unbelievable value too with each product retailing at just £1.99 a piece! A welcome saving this January hey?!
Here’s the lowdown on my must-buy Natural Collection beauty products for 2017 as I work a cat eye with neutral lip:
Natural Collection’s blusher is perfect for giving your cheeks a rosy glow, as well as subtle definition.
I opted for the ‘sweet cheeks’ shade (there are 6 shades in total to choose from), perfect for brightening up my olive complexion. To create a natural ‘flush’, I used a medium sized, fluffy brush (and gently swiped the blush over each of my cheeks a couple of times. My brush of choice is from the Real Techniques Core Collection Range (also from Boots).
Earlier I mentioned how 2017 is all about creating a natural look while focusing on one statement feature such as eyes or lips. The Natural Collection Eye Lines Pencil is my number one choice for creating Sophia Lauren’s iconic cat eyes. I’ve always found kohl easier than liquid liners when creating the cat eye look and this one offers a smooth and bold application offering the same impact as gel. And it lasts!
It’s available in 2 shades – soft brown and black.
To finish off this look, I then used Natural Collection’s Lash Build Mascara, which extends and volumizes lashes without clumping.
I simply applied two to three layers for lush lashes, not forgetting my bottom lashes too.
For a beautifully natural pout, you can’t go wrong with Natural Collection’s Sheer Natural Lipstick which gives lips a hint of colour with a subtle sheen.
I opted for the shade, ‘sand castle’, a stunning nude pink which is very wearable shade day-to-day, on me. The lipstick itself glides on easily and gives wonderful coverage.
Of course, the piece de resistance of any pout is soft, moisturised lips, right? Matte lips were huge in 2016 thanks to a certain Jenner sister but in 2017 we’ll be seeing a return to a more youthful glossy lip. Applying a light layer of this tinted lip balm either on its own or over lipstick makes for a subtle, soft lip.
I opted for Passionfruit Punch, a natural pink shade to make my husband Peter wink 😉
So what do you think of my natural look?
And the cost of this haul? A grand total of £9.95! Yup folks you heard right…5 pieces of fab make up for less than a tenner! Something to smile about hey!
