Take one car-loving blogger (me) plus her super-funny Papa G and the breathtaking Bowcliffe Hall in the village I live in (how cool though?), pose in cool cars, shoot, test drive then eat exquisite food- and what do you get? THE BEST DAY EVER that's what!
Tomorrow, 3 generations of the family - myself, my husband Peter, our 2 sons: Oliver and Alexander and my parents - will be heading Alicante staying in a villa kindly c/o of James Villas.
With Father's Day not far off, on Sunday June 21st, I'm starting to plan how I'll be spoiling the 2 main (grown) men in my life - my husband of 10 years, Peter, and of course the one and only Papa G.
This Sunday I turn 34 and on the 10th my blog turned a whopping 4! Honest Mum was officially born on the 10th of November in 2010 but like to celebrate my very FIRST POST along with my birthday!
I appear to have drifted into a festive themed blissful retreat filled with quality family time, delicious, Christmas food (Greek, English, French) and sunny, invigorating winter walks: wow, what a week. I feel like a new girl: relaxed, renewed and ready for the New Year. Cheers!
I'm going through that stage where I physically can't wait to meet my baby and see his little face. You know that crazy 'time-stops-still' moment where they hand you your offspring for the first time and you remain in shock for the next two years, yeah that...
Papa G's a football mad Gunners supporter and in time for Father's Day (held this year on June 17) he was kindly sent a handcrafted, beautiful architectural model of his beloved Arsenal Stadium (£99) from Chisel & Mouse . Just look at his face: think he's even happier than the day I was born. Nearly.
Incredible illustrator, magazine founder and creator of Financially Hard Times and utterly all round wonderful young man, Tom Casson is kindly closing my Blogging Carnival with an illustration of my Dad: Papa G. The drawing which perfectly captures Pops was inspired by one of my early and most favourite of posts: Dad and a Little Case of Chicken Pox.
