Here is the short promo film I was commissioned to direct and produce for Brit Mums Live 2012 - it includes all the highlights from the biggest and most influential blogging event in the UK. My very talented husband Peter Broadbent was on camera and my fabulous editor Edward Kinnear cut it.
Last night something amazing happened. My gorgeous friend Jess Huie (publicist and founder of the wonderful multicultural cards and gift company Colorblind Cards) arranged for JLS, friends of hers to call my younger cousin Solos.
BritMums Live (for those of who don't know) is the blogging conference of the century, bringing together fabulous bloggers from all over the UK and sometimes further afield, along with inspiring, informative speakers-par example Ruby Wax, Sarah Brown, Katy Hill and others and throwing in tonnes of educational workshops from (getting published to understanding the law), cake and of course cool sponsors to network with.
No don't get too excited-I won't be attending this year *weeps. You see being up the duff is not ideal for party going Cannes plus I have writing commitments to get on with (must stop procrastinating and writing this blog, instead) but Cannes is AMAZING.
For those who don't know, I'm a freelance writer/director directing drama, documentary, shorts, promos and music videos. I've been lucky enough to work with some of the leading production companies in the world and for diverse broadcasters from the BBC to film company Lionsgate UK- and I've even scooped some awards to boot along the way. I love my job-truly, I feel like I get to play and get paid for it.
Last year I produced and directed a short film (wavering all fees) for the charity OC Support UK which supports people affected by the pregnancy liver condition Obstetric Cholestasis. I myself had the condition with my first pregnancy and was determined to make a short educational film to help as many women and unborn babies as possible.
