Honest Mum’s Cool AF Car ‘Club’ Playlist

supercar

I love a good night out. The dance floor is most definitely my happy place as I’m a true mother and a shaker. Nothing makes me feel more alive than banging tunes!

The small thing is though, with 2 young kids, my dance floor hijinks are few and far between these days (note to self: organise a girls’ night out…stat!) and booty shaking is now reserved to parties in my car. I realise how sad that sounds but my car is my club. My car isn’t the one I’m posing in above (#iwish) it’s a red Range Rover Evoque (still cool, not as fast) but perfect for a makeshift club. School run? More like ‘cool run’. 😉

However, in the interest of health and safety drive safely, keep your eyes on the road and know that pop up clubs in your cars and living rooms are not without their risks as last year, I managed to give myself sciatica whilst getting a bit overexcited busting some moves to Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’.  I felt flipping sorry for a month after that.

Now I stick to partying in my car so I had to share my ‘car party’ playlist.

These are the songs that get me grooving around in my seat and belting out the lyrics at the top of my lungs- much to the amusement of the drivers next to me at the traffic lights!

Let me know if you love to dance and drive too.

Honest Mum’s Playlist

One Dance – Drake Ft Kyla & Wizkid
Drake knows how to get the laydeez on the dancefloor and this song is guaranteed to get you busting those moves. I had this song on repeat for most of 2016 and I’m not gonna lie, I now know all the words off by heart (and so do my kids)!

Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It) – Beyoncé

I may have a ring on it but that doesn’t stop me doing my thang to one of the greatest party tracks of all time. All hail Queen Bey!

We Found Love – Rhianna ft Calvin Harris

Yass Rhianna! This is definitely one of best pop tracks ever thanks to Calvin’s euphoric electronic beats and Ri Ri’s velvety vocals. 5 years on and it’s still a dance floor-filler.

Shape of You – Ed Sheeran

Music maestro Ed Sheeran has created another masterpiece with this feel-good track. Guaranteed to put a smile on your face. I’m a bit in love with Ed. Are you?

Rockabye – Clean Bandit ft Sean Paul and Ann-Marie

Any song featuring Sean Paul’s unmistakable vocals is a winner in my eyes. This tribute to single mums was number one for 7 weeks thanks to its poignant lyrics and melodic beat – and it’s impossible to not sing-a-long when it comes on the stereo. SP, we love ya!

No Diggity – Blackstreet ft Dr Dre and Queen Pen

An oldie but a goodie. I spent many a night getting down to this track in my early twenties and hearing it now makes me want to head straight out to a club ideally in Napa.

25 – Adele

After all that dancing it’s on to the after party (aka putting the kids to bed) and the soulful tones of Adele are perfect for winding down too. Her latest album 25 has been essential listening in the Broadbent household since its release. Dreamy.

So what are your fave tracks?
