Glow 2023 at RHS Garden Harlow Carr

RHS Garden Harlow Carr reminded us all that Christmas is just around the corner by transforming their glorious 68 acres into a magical, festival of illuminations with their event, Glow 2023, an after-dark trail for all of the family.

Wrapped up warmly-hello thermals, hats, scarves and gloves-we were utterly dazzled by the spectacular light display on offer as we strolled around the gardens at night.

Iconic features adorned with festive lights included Streamside, the Edwardian Garden, Queen Mother’s Lake, Winter Walk, Doric Columns, Bath House and the Kitchen Garden.

The lake was my personal highlight of the night as the majetic trees appeared rooted in the water thanks to their illuminated reflection. Florence loved the illumiated deer sculptures and piano-like bridge.

The trees, shrubs and flora beamed in technicolour, giant baubles hung from the branches of towering trees, a bubble magician blew waves of bubbles which wowed the children, lanterns glowed deep amber and rainbow colours danced through the park under the light of the moon.

My toddler announced at every turn, ‘This is amazing’. And it really was.

Tickets were gifted. I was also gifted an annual family membership. All words are honest and my own.
