Fun At The Fair

This night at Windsor on Ice, the festive fair in Alexandra Gardens in the heart of town, was totally and utterly perfect. So perfect, I had to document it here so I’ll always remember how happy we felt that evening and how special it was to witness the wonder in baby Florence’s eyes as she stared at the flickering fairground lights and took in the hustle and bustle of the fair at Christmas.

I never want to forget the cuddles Alexander gave me to keep me warm as we waited in line or the joy the boys felt as they zoomed around on the rides, Xander in a helicopter in the sky, then a car ride where he pretended to drive, and later, together, they crashed around in bumper cars before getting lost in Ice Mountain (an icy looking indoor maze).

Regeneration came in the form of  sticky pink candy floss and candy canes filled with faux Smarties (the latter they promised they’d save for Christmas Day but couldn’t resist) as Peter and I searched unsuccessfully for mulled wine and mince pies.

We call Oliver, ‘Little Daddy’ as he’s just so good with his baby sister and she feels so safe in his arms.

Here, Xander let me snap him in his new monochrome winter coat by Santa, doesn’t he look so dapper and suddenly so grown up now his little sis is here?

…It’s certainly not always perfect on outings with kids but that night truly was.
