Happy holidays, folks ! I’ve barely looked at my phone or been on the laptop these past few days which has been a blissful tech time-out for me, to be honest, allowing me to fully focus on the family, making memories and getting merry. Hic!
My husband, Peter, took these joyful photos so I’m sharing what we got up to here so I can diarise Christmas 22 and also say some heartfelt thank yous to those who made it so very special and who have been incredibly generous, all year round.
Thanks firstly goes to my culinary-gifted folks for the delicious festive feast they spent two whole days preparing for us all, even if we forgot to snap the turkey and trimmings (chef’s kiss). Mum made a delicious mushroom soup, duck a l’orange and turkey with all the trimmings whilst Dad focused on prawns in a white wine and cream sauce and lobster thermidore.
Florence loved eating her first Christmas dinner. This pretty long sleeved bib protecting her outfit is a gift from Cove Baby. Thank you!
Now for more thank yous. A list of them. Buckle in.
The stunning personalised Christmas tree decorations above which perfectly capture my kids’ personalities and looks, are a special gift from Hello Henry, and we were also lucky to receive delightful personalised festive wooden decorations by Peg Dolls By Parties and Playdays, too. These sweet gifts will hang from our tree every year. Thank you ladies!
Huge thanks must also go to the the wonderful Shoshana of Fuse Communications for this Emile et Rose festive outfit of dreams for Florence: The Christie Red Christmas Dress with Tights and the gorgeous teddy which came in a special Christmas gift box.
I matched the chic black bows on the tights with a big velvet bow in her hair.
Alexander said she looks like the Queen as a child. So sweet!
Thank you too to Dotty Fish for the sweet red leather shoes which give this little walker support and grip whilst looking gorgeous to boot! Get it!
Ideal for climbing on Grandma’s gifted sofa from Swyft!
Massive thanks to Petite Amelie for the most wonderful wooden kitchen ‘La Parisienne wooden kitchen’ with a 13 piece wooden cooking set (age 3+ so we supervise play) and for all of the beautifully made gifts they’ve bestowed upon us this year from a cot bed to a doll’s house and wooden walker. I can’t wait to fill Florence’s bedroom in our new house with these lovely pieces.
Thanks to my talented pal, runner up of BBC2’s All That Glitters, Emma White of The Jewellery Makers for these charming rose gold heart earrings.
So pretty!
Shoshana also kindly sent a skincare set of my much-loved gentle and nourishing Little Butterfly London (I’ve used nothing else all year) as well as some luxurious blankets by Aden + Anais with their heavy toddler blanket and soft dream blanket which are super soft and help Florence relax ready for slumber when it’s nap time.
I mustn’t forget to thank my husband here too as I was incredibly spoiled with an engagement ring upgrade in November for my birthday after a two year search (sharing photos for the first time as I made a Reel when I shared it earlier).
I did weigh up having a vowel renewal ceremony but I felt too tired to organise it thanks to Miss Florence so I increased the budget on the ring I’d been searching for and found this sparkler from a friend’s exquisite diamond and watch specialists Hamptons Jewellers in Harrogate.
It’s a platinum and diamond ring comprising of a single emerald cut diamond held in a platinum 4 claw setting leading to a platinum shank set with 16 channel set baguette cut diamonds. What a show-stopping beauty.
I’m so grateful!
I wasn’t bothered about Christmas presents after that epic gift to be honest but Peter insisted I treat myself after a tiring year as a mama of three (he’s a keeper) so I picked up a few pieces on my wishlist spanning a couple of early Christmas presents including a Jigsaw Wool Maxi City Coat in burgendy and a Louis Vuitton essential scarf in pink and white.
I also opened an LV agenda I’ve wanted for a while which Peter bought me, on the big day, along with some smaller alcohol-related presents including a delicious ready-mixed Espresso Martini by Myatt’s Fields Cocktails and a Special Reserve Port from M&S I highly recommend!
My Mum also bought this nourishing nail set by Tropic from my friend Jenni. I’m determined to fix my weak nails after endless tips and gels.
You can buy from Jenni HERE.
I admittendly couldn’t resist the sales plumping for black leather Mulberry Softie Gloves and a dog Mulberry keyring from the York Mulberry store which sells last season as well current season items and has a super sale on currently (I’d recommend if you’re local)…And now, now it’s time to save, save, save as the purchase of our forever home is completing in the next few months all being well, and we’re throwing every penny we have at it and hope never to move again!
I’ll be sharing lots of our beautiful house when we do move so get ready for me to cheat on fashion with furniture, soon!
…I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Thinking of those who find this time of year hard and sending love.
