A day at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
As I enter YSP, I feel the stress of the week disperse with every step as I’m enveloped into fields of green and sculptures that stimulate yet soothe me.
Oliver adores this stunning Wakefield park-its magical forest which plays music as children stomp through the trees, the ‘bails of hay‘ that are renowned sculpture Michael Zwingman’s invention which the toddler sits upon (and enjoys attempting to kick) and the millions of geese that befriend us each time we visit.
The giant breasted bunnies belonging to Sophie Ryder are my personal highlight as she melds human and animal forms to challenge and entertain: an artistic haven for all.
Free entry with only parking to pay and over 60 sculptures to view at all times along with acres to run around in, it’s perfect in every season.
