Honest Mum

Hi, I’m Vicki, mum of two, blogger, vlogger, author and former filmmaker and TV director.

I often pop up on TV as both a presenter and parenting expert (regularly appearing on BBC News and ITV) and I’ve spoken about maternal rights and flexible working as well as perinatal mental health in the House of Commons.

Career highlights include interviewing superstar actress Kim Cattrall and pop group, Westlife.

Never feels like work when it’s fun, right. 11 year old me who was desperate to be a journo/ news reader/presenter/actor and would make films on a vhs camera my Dad would hire from the video shop for a treat as it was ££££ is feeling so grateful and happy right now to be doing a job I love with some of the greatest, most talented people and brands out there. Build it and they will come 🙏. (11 year old me is also grateful my Mum @honestgrandma finally let me pluck my mono brow too. Finally 🤪). A clip from my stories today (more in MG Ad highlights). I’ll share the finished film once it’s out and the press links too. It’s apparently going out to 50 m 😱. When I started blogging back in 2010, totally broken, I never knew what could have possibly come from pushing myself out of my comfort zone. I know it’s completely cringe to say I’m living my dream but I think it’s important we as women own that and don’t feel scared to say, ‘I’ve worked damn hard and I’ve reached goals I could only have dreamed of’. So much more I hope to do, but having work/life balance I’ve achieved in the last 18 months working a 3 day week while growing my biz and being there for my family feels so special. I’ve re-shared a blog post on birth trauma in a I’ve re-shared a blog post on birth trauma in a link in my bio which went viral back in 2015 (it took me CBT and 5 years of processing to write it and I’ve since read it in a Committee meeting in the House of Commons and an NHS perinatal event) and it’s part of my motherhood journey covered in my book MUMBOSS. We need to keep the candid conversation on perinatal mental health going, to one another and when we’re comfortable to, with our children, normalising mental health struggles so if our own kids ever struggle, they know to speak up and reach out 💪 (Tweet from last year).
