So the cray snow fall of last week scuppered World Book Day plans with the school closing and after rocking the outfits for a lot of last weekend just because (!) the boys appealed for new ones when it came to World Book Day (take 2) at school today and this is the results of my quick Amazon purchase.
Here, I present you the mini versions of Willy Wonka and Fantastic Mr Fox in frankly photos of my boys looking their cutest, to date.
I’m actually going to frame one of these pics instead of posting them on my social networks and forgetting about my all too bare walls.
These guys deserve to be exhibited in the lounge don’t they? After I Photoshop the mud from their shoes that is!
Seriously though, these photos make me smile and tear-up in equal measure. How are these crazy twosome my children?! These adorable, loving, strong-minded feminist little boys who are hopefully going make this world a better place, thanks in part to hero Roald Dahl and fingers cross the influence of my husband and I…I couldn’t be more proud of them today in their quirky outfits and every single day!
I love that we have a rightly have a day to celebrate how vital literature is for children. Nothing compares to losing yourself in a captivating book: it’s mind-expanding, liberating and empowering for all. It frees the imagination transporting children over time, geography, history and place.
Art will save us all.
