Describe a typical day for you?
Depends whether I am working or not. When working in theatre the whole focus of the day is from the moment I enter the dressing room. When not, the day is filled with charity commitments and time with my family.
What do you feel are your biggest achievements?
Having lived this long. Being a mother and grandmother. Constantly discovering new things. Constantly looking for a challenge.
What’s in your handbag/ satchel?
Everything- make-up, purse, tissues, nail file, eyedrops, scent! Keys, diary, mobile phone, mints, water, handcream etc…
What are your ambitions in life?
Constantly seeking new challenges. Being useful. Learning. Being useful to my grandson. Being a support for my daughter and family.
What do you wish you’d known at the start of your career you now know?
How important real friends are. You have to have the hide of a rhino to survive. Opinions are personal and individual. Know who you are and follow that instinct.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Hopefully still alive and working. Continuing as an influence in my grandson’s life! Spreading always, the word of peace and the importance of all sentient beings.
What advice would you give a budding actor?
Unless it’s the only dream…. don’t. It’s a tough business less do with talent than luck. Remember to always leave people with a good taste. You never know who you will meet going up or down.
Finally, happiness is…
Being loved and needed- feeling useful. Cuddles from my daughter and grandchild. Knowing one is making a difference somewhere. The warmth of the sun! Always discovering new and different place and things. Happiness and health for my family and friends. A good book. Adventure in remote places.
