My fabulous friend Jess Huie founded the award-winning multi-racial greeting card and gift company Colorblind Cards in 2007 and made history as the first company to secure a presence for a black card range in the UK high street in 2008.
Jess had been on a mission to find a card featuring a black princess for her then seven year old daughter Monet, and inspired by the high-street’s lack of black or brown super-heroes and princesses, Color blind Cards was born.
Within six months they were stocked in 100 branches of Clinton Cards, numerous independents, Moonpig.com and secured distribution in the US, Barbados, South Africa and Bermuda.
Her vision for Color blind was to create an inspiring range which could be enjoyed by everybody – regardless of their ethnicity but catering particularly to a black and mixed-race audience who had been previously over looked by the greeting card industry.
You can watch a little film about her company here:
Truly stunning, stylish, original, top quality designs, I adore our personalised cards Jess sent especially for the family this Christmas below.
Now one lucky Honest Mum reader has the chance to win a set of non personalised Christmas cards (12 cards in total) worth approx £15 (first image at the top of the post).
