HM_Featured_Competition_200pxPhoneix Dance Theatre 2015 Triple Bill 35th Anniversary Show

I’m excited to announce that I have teamed up with Phoenix Dance Theatre as they celebrate their 35th anniversary, and will be offering one very lucky Honest Mum reader the chance to win 2 tickets to their upcoming show, ‘Triple Bill’.

Watching contemporary dance at the theatre is one of my favourite pastimes and I can’t wait to watch ‘Triple Bill’ when it kicks off its UK-wide tour from February 17th 2016.

From humble beginnings as an inner-city Leeds dance group, Phoenix is now on the UK’s most acclaimed contemporary dance companies.

‘Triple Bill’ showcases three mesmerising performances celebrating diversity and collaboration.

The first performance within ‘Triple Bill’ is Kate Flatt’s Undivided Loves, which brings to life Shakespeare’s timeless themes of desire, duplicity and unrequited love.

In contrast, Dutch/Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili reworks his dynamic and dark piece ‘Until.With/Out.Enough’, which explores the concept of the enclosed space that exists within our minds.

The final piece is  audience favourite ‘Melt’ by Phoenix Dance Theatre’s very own Artistic Director Sharon Watson.

A breathtaking, visually spectacular work, ‘Melt’ sees the elements collide as dancers swoop and glide across the stage in an elegant mix of aerial dance.

Just wow!

My mum is interested in dance, she’s 81 now but I’d love to take her to see this. Sheer beauty.

I love anything theatre! I have not been to the ballet since the early 80’s. I think last time I went it was to see Rudolf Nureyev and it was so amazing we bought tickets for the next week (a different ballet) – only problem was we could only get front row (which we thought was great) but boy – do you get an eyeful sitting there! lol

I love Phoenix Dance Theatre and had the pleasure of seeing them perform many years back when I was an arts reviewer. Wonderful to see they’re still going strong, such vibrant performance theatre. I also adore seeing contemporary dance live and lucky to live near Sadler’s Wells etc but of course since mama hood haven’t been to as many shows — at least not without the kids lol. Fab competition! x

Oh amazing Uju, such a wonderful dance theatre and ‘Triple Bill’ promises to be unmissable. Theatre/dance really touches the soul and uplifts doesn’t it. I actually want to start attending a dance class myself too. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone for 2016 xx
