What I Wore Style Spotlight

Vicki and son

I’m going to start sharing individual outfit posts more often on the blog. It’s something I do a lot on Instagram and my favourite photos on the platform tend to be style-related so I want to share mine and my kid’s pieces here more, too.

When we visited 2 Michelin star Belmond Le Manoir Quat’Saisons a few weeks ago, I packed lots of outfits for our overnight stay, and unknowingly ended up matching the achingly beautiful surroundings for the most part.  #Whenpeoplematchplaces huh!

Take this Topshop daisy print floral tea dress which picks up the fragrant, sprawling lavender both in the gardens and also the dried bouquets we discovered in our fittingly named suite Levande.

I have a whole post and vlog dedicated to our blissful time at Le Manoir I’ll be sharing soon, but for now, let’s cheat on food for a moment with fashion and take a look at the style deets.

Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons

I collect shoes and have so many pairs, it’s ridiculous (according to my husband that is, I believe you can never have too many shoes) yet you wouldn’t know my obsession from the photos I post, as I keep returning to three beloved pairs I’m currently wearing on repeat, these grey wedges c/o M&S being one of them.

Comfy, with the perfect wedge heel ie not too high that you break your leg when playing Tig in them and smart enough (not Espadrille like) to work for night as well as day.

I can’t find an exact Kate Middleton esque match as with mine, but check out M&S for similar ones.

Topshop is one of my high street faves (as those who follow me on social will know well) because I’ve never been in and not found a piece I’ve fallen in love with. I adore the prints, vintage style nods, and the fact I know my size in there unlike other stores with UK 10’s fitting me best.

The cuts, however, are always too low for me (I’ve never been a huge fan of showing cleavage but don’t judge those who do, of course) so I pair most frocks from the store, with a black, white or nude vest.

Here my poor ‘Instagram Kid’ patiently posed for 189005y673 photos until I was happy, struggling to smile at the last hurdle. Who could blame him. What a trooper.

The one earring on show (I do own two, honest) are the red tassle beauties also from Topshop, which I believe you can also buy in H&M. I’ve always been obsessed with big earrings and now feel like the entire fashion world has joined me too. Give me hoops, tassels and statement earrings you can spot against my HUGE hair and I’m happy!

Xander is wearing shorts and grey loafer boat shoes by Gap, and the white tee is H&M. Classic, cool, and oh so French, just like Daddy (literally).

What do you think? Do you like our look?!
