What I Wore: Rocking Gothic Glamour For My Cousin Georgia’s 21st Birthday Party

What I Wore: Rocking Gothic Glamour For My Cousin Georgia’s 21st Birthday Party.

Earlier this month saw me head across the Peninnes to the super stylish city of Manchester for my cousin Georgia’s 21st Birthday.

The night saw me booty shaking on the dance floor til the early hours with my cousin and her ‘girl squad’ – my 21 year old self would have been proud!

However, while I might have channelled the stamina from my early twenties, you’ll be pleased to hear I didn’t bring back the fashion sense.

Let’s just say the early naughties isn’t renowned as the most stylish era!

Remember Britney and Justin’s matching head-to-toe denim ensemble? Yup – that pretty much sums up early 2000s fashion! *shudders*

Back to 2015…and I opted for a far more chic and stylish ensemble. ‘Gothic Glamour’ is one of this season’s biggest trends, dominating the catwalk and a firm favourite of designers such as Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier.

The trend itself is easy to adapt to your own style.

Simply embrace fabrics such as lace, velvet and leather (black…of course) and vampy make up.

I went for this stunning Velvet Floral Lace Shift Dress from Marks and Spencer’s Limited Collection.

Lace and velvet are two of most decadent fabrics, so I knew this dress would have the ‘wow factor’ for this special celebration.

I love the feminine floral design of the lace; and combined with the detailing of the neckline, this dress is simply mesmerising.

Such a luscious dress needs strong make up, so I teamed it with my fave Mac lipstick in Rebel and dark smokey eyes. I also wore my hair straight for once too! What do you think?

Here I am with my mum and my Auntie Zak who wears a dress by Morgan. I think an obsession with LBD’s must be in our DNA!

The theme of the party was masquerade ball and I had the purrrrrfect mask for the night!

Here I am wearing it with my own little kitten, Xander.

And what a night it was!

I had the most fun catching up with Georgia who looked like a Disney Princess in her shimmering gown!

She could be a model right?!

And here we are with Georgia’s dashing boyfriend Jake-

…I barely left the dance floor all night. Beyonce’s got nothing on me… 😉

So much fun…its just a shame I can’t recover from a night out as quickly as when I was 21! Pass the aspirin!
