On Tuesday I ‘railed it’ to gorgeous Newcastle to speak at O‘s masterclass on blogging and vlogging, a workshop held before their renowned North East Blogger Awards at the opulent Bonbar in the city centre.

I adore Newcastle, it’s just an hour from where I live in Yorkshire yet I’ve only been the once. The last time was for a pretty wild night out aged 19 which involved a bar and club crawl without a jacket on, in the snow! How times have changed hey?!

Coat firmly on, and hat too (working the Johnny Depp look), I was honoured to be back in this beautiful city to speak to a selection of brand managers on behalf of O.

Thanks to my former Editor at Grazia Daily, Holly Peacock (who is Digital Strategist for O) for asking me to participate. I love working with this lady on various brand campaigns with O, and we’ve chatted so much online over the years, it was a little bit ur-mazing to finally meet face to face!

We got on like a house on fire, as I knew we would.

It was equally awesome to meet and take part in a Q &A with the brilliant Samantha Rickelton of North East Family Fun and retail consultant and blogger Graham Soult of Soult’s Retail View.

Founder of O, Kari Owers was a real inspiration too, I learnt a lot listening to her, a pioneer in the advertising field, getting it bang on with her business.

It was also an honour to share my journey from award-winning filmmaker to professional blogger and now vlogger. In a way, it’s crazy to think how my career has gone almost full circle, starting off behind the camera to the blog and now in front of the camera with my daily vlogs and You Tube Channel.

It was also wonderful to meet super YouTuber Carly Musleh of Beauty Sauce who is one of my favourite beauty and fashion YouTubers and bloggers on the scene. You can check out her blog HERE.

We met when we shot a campaign recently for Superdrug for Red Magazine, and instantly clicked. Her beautiful little boy Andre joined us for coffee too this time, and I loved chatting and plotting future potential collabs together.

What an amazing day- and as soppy as it sounds, I’m truly grateful for all the amazing, kick ass and pioneering people I get to work with at events like this! Truly inspiring!

Enjoy the vlog!
