Perfect for meat-free Mondays or just reducing your meat content. Ideal for vegetarians obvs!
Peter prefers them in crusty french stick but added bite.
Here’s the recipe:
Makes 4 dogs:
Ingredients:
- White onion slices
- 4 tablespoons mild olive oil
- You could make your own sausages but we like Quorn gluten-free sausages
- Hot dog buns or we used French stick
- Tomato ketchup
- Mustard sauce (optional)
Method:
In a small pan, fry the sliced onions in 2 tablespoons of mild olive oil for 5 minutes until translucent and a little crispy.
In a medium pan, fry the sausages for 4-5 minutes in 2 tablespoon of olive oil or grill (brushing them with oil) at 180°c for 20 minutes.
Chop the bread and cut into 2 halves. Butter and spread tomato sauce & mustard sauce on the lower half.
Enjoy!
