The Psarias Family Judge The Finals Of Leeds Series ‘Too Many Cooks’ On Channel 4.
Late last year. I shared that my family and I were filming something top secret for telly and now, finally, all can now be revealed.
Drum roll please….
This Friday sees my Dad (Papa G), Mum, my brother Solos and I (plus a whole load of our friends and family) feature in Too Many Cooks a new cookery show on Channel 4!

In this no doubt lively episode held during my parent’s 40th wedding anniversary party, my family and I give our verdict on the competing couples dishes as they try their hand at Greek food! Taking over the kitchens at one of my folk’s award winning restaurants The Olive Tree in Headingley, each couple tries to out-do each other in what promises to be an entertaining and emotional Big Fat Greek evening!
The show airs at 5.30pm this Friday – so be there or erm, be square 😉 or you know, watch it on 4 On Demand ;)!
Filming the show was so much fun- having worked as a director during my twenties pre-blogging, I’m used to be being behind the camera but thanks to my recent vlogging as well as presenting work with ITV and Sky News, I’ve developed a new-found passion for appearing on screen too.
…Oh, and now judging on camera!
Watch out Cheryl Cole hey 😉
For those who haven’t caught the show, ‘Too Many Cooks’ sees three amateur foodie couples compete to provide great food at a series of five different parties. They each cater on budgets and at a scale they’ve never encountered before making for a dynamic and exciting show.
Fans of Come Dine With Me are going to LOVE this show!
And what an amazing celebration! Joined by family and friends – the room was full of love, laughter and plenty of Greek dancing too! Opa!
Here are some shots from ‘behind the scenes’!
…My Dad loved the whole experience too. An award-winning chef himself, he’s no stranger to appearing on screen cooking with Marco Pierre White and spending a lot of my childhood cooking on breakfast TV and even shot several shows for BBC2’s Food & Drink. Papa G even encouraged me to try out for Junior Masterchef aged just 10. I came 4th in the North but they only needed 3 kids for the TV show-the guy’s only just forgiven me for it 😉 ! Sorry Dad!
Naturally, I can’t reveal any spoilers about the night, however I can share that there’s an interesting twist- as our judges’ marks aren’t the only scoring metric!
There’s another clever layer as the caterers can ‘bank’ some of their budget each day, gambling on the chance that the extra cash they put in their profit pot will see them ending the week on the biggest score and walking away with all their winnings.
To find out what happened at our event, tune in on Friday!
Too Many Cooks is shown daily at 5.30pm on Channel 4. The episode featuring our family will be shown at 5.30pm on Channel 4 or 6.30pm on Channel 4 +1 on April 15th 2016.
Too Many Cooks is produced by Leeds-based production company True North Productions.
