Where do I start with the most amazing lunch of my life?! Truly.
The company. Food. Ambience. Service. The delightful energy that cheesily fed my soul as much as my tum (!).
I shut my eyes and found myself on the French Rivieria in the middle of London.
The Dalloway Terrace in the Bloomsbury Hotel is EVERYTHING and more.
Get ready for one gushy, mouthwatering post….
What a total babe.
Come on in…
#Homedecor goals right there.
Divine art deco style that makes for a luxe but welcoming vibe.
I need their cocktails sign in my lounge. Bedtime drinks for Mama!
Oh, and guess what? Everyone knows your name. So it’s like being at home. If you’re Victoria Beckham ;)!
They have a note of all their guests and times of arrival so you’re be greeted by all the staff as if you were their best pal. Too awesome!
Cheers!
Meeting my gorgeous and gifted pal Lela of eponymous site Lela London in the sunlight terrace, it couldn’t have been a more perfect few hours of feasting.
I loved every minute.
Just look at the food.
With melt-in-your mouth beef carpaccio with horseradish, rocket and parmesan or me (tangy and light) and Lela going off-menu with creamy burrato and soft ciabbata and baby tomatoes, the starters were fresh, flavoursome and the perfect foundation for the meatier courses to come.
Art on a plate-
It was all about the crisp Skinny Prosecco when it came to drinks (yes, that’s a thing darling). My first but definitely not my last taste of the good stuff.
As bubbly, crisp but naturally lighter than it’s full calorie-d sister, it’s skinny all the way from now on.
For mains, I opted for Cotswold white chicken with rosemary and lemon and a side of truffle fries, kale and green beans, which collectively took me back to al fresco dining in Cyprus with my family (isn’t it remarkable when food instantly transports you through time- and place)…And Lela plumped for the succulent hand-dived seared scallops with tangy spinach, chanterelles & teriyaki dressing.
Yum.
The piece de resistance had to be the life-enhancing(!) panacotta of course (the fabulous Aladdin who looked after us during the meal, recommended desserts for us) with a creamy chocolatey-pecan slice for Lela.
The perfect accompaniment to sweet espresso martinis and cappuccinos to end.
And we never wanted it to end. Ever.
Lela loved her delicate and moorish chocolate pecan slice (I couldn’t try due to a nut allergy) which nearly made me cry.
What a beauty.
Just like this girl.
Martinis make me happy, tis true!
I have to say, the waitering staff and literally every one there representing Dalloway, sure do REPRESENT. Everyone was sweet, charming, attentive and totally genuine too.
And they take a mean picture (or twenty in our case) as well! Thanks guys for your patience! #Bloggers!
…What a day. Lela and I laughed our way through every course. We conjured up plans, collabs and talked dreams. Big dreams.
There is nothing more liberating or fun than being yourself around others who get you and you, them.
What a lass as we say up North!
Or as Lela would say, ‘All the feels’ here! x
I love that girl and I love that place.
You must, must read Lela’s beautiful blog-the girl writes and photographs like a dream: Lela London and you must immediately book at Dalloway Terrace too: simply exquisite.
We will be back.
Too. Much. Fun.
