Fight for your friendships
Work through the list. You owe it to yourself.
Make some time for your mates.
Our recent date night.
Fun at the panto.
Cake always tastes so much sweeter when it's in aid of charity.
I'm going to kick off this post being entirely honest (as I always am) and state that Sunday at Geronimo Festival in Leeds was not a fun day, overall.
So today I bumped into an old boyfriend in the post office, as you do (this never happens). It was really sweet seeing him again, especially as the last time we met up was about 17 whole years ago-and now we're 35 and 36 respectively. Wow.
Sometimes it takes a Yorkshire lass to arrange a London meet-up, ha!
Tuesday night saw me attend the opening night of 'The Girls' at the Grand Theatre in Leeds.
I'm honoured to be working with NIVEA, one of my all-time favourite skincare brands, reviewing their NIVEA Q10 anti-aging collection and also appearing in their latest campaign film with my kids.
I can't live without the strong female friendships in my life.
Saturday evening saw me take out my favourite lady, my Mum, for a night at the opera-Opera North's 'The Marriage of Figaro' to be precise for a spot of culture in a spotty dress!
So we'd not attended a film premiere for a while (hard life huh) and then two come along at once! I know!!! We attended the glittering world premiere of Paddington last week at the Odeon Leicester Square and before even hitting the publish button on the post about it, I'd received an invite for the Get Santa premiere, the following Sunday!
Yesterday was a rather special day for this family as along with my husband Peter, our child Oliver, 4 and my friend Sharmin who was visiting from Amsterdam, I attended the world premiere of Paddington.
This Sunday I turn 34 and on the 10th my blog turned a whopping 4! Honest Mum was officially born on the 10th of November in 2010 but like to celebrate my very FIRST POST along with my birthday!
It's funny how things can work out just when you need them to...I was feeling a bit down in the dumps that I'd not seen some of my closest London buddies for what feels like forever when I received a text from my male best friend Will that he'd be in town for an anesthetist conference pretty much round the corner from where I live in Yorkshire-yay!
Anyone who knows me, understands how much I love hanging out with my family. In fact nothing, NOTHING makes me happier than when we're altogether, eating, laughing, eating, shouting (we don't do talking, we're Greek) and did I mention eating?! My family are utter happy-makers and that's the 'truth Ruth'!
