So FOMO means the 'fear of missing out' (FYI those who have no idea 'Hi Dad') with the online dictionary informing me it's, 'Anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere, often aroused by posts seen on a social media website' (please tell me you also laughed out loud at 'aroused' and the use of 'website' after social media-yes I might need to grow up #natch).
As much as I love family holidays together, travelling with kids can be, well...a bit of a nightmare!
Packing for the whole family can become a full blown military operation ( I start 2 weeks before the holiday, yes really)- while flying with young kids (my own are worse on short than long haul-go figure?) can frankly, induce fine lines and grey hair by arrival.
Thank goodness for Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream pre and during flights, and in-seat yoga (and breathe)!
Seriously though, to avoid the headache, travelling by Eurostar with kids is far less hassle than flying when travelling to mainland Europe.
There's nothing I love more than looking at old photos from my childhood (bar the 10 year old school pictures that is- my eyebrows aka Carpet World samples were let's say, ahead of their time when it came to brow trends, and most of those scary shots have found their way into the bin-eek!
This summer has been glorious- a slower way of life for us all, al fresco dining when the weather allowed, a week in Spain, good times in the garden growing our own produce (hello runner beans and strawberries galore), inventing games, painting (in the garage with newspaper on the floor of course-I've not gone totally insane)...just being happy, b
Tomorrow, 3 generations of the family - myself, my husband Peter, our 2 sons: Oliver and Alexander and my parents - will be heading Alicante staying in a villa kindly c/o of James Villas.
