Sunday in Pictures: Stockeld Park

Stockeld Park

Sunday was all about ‘wind-down time’ after a slightly wild Saturday night celebrating my birthday with twenty friends (post to follow). So fresh air, a long walk in the forest, hot chocolate and heartwarming food with friends and family was just what we needed, and the perfect place to find it all (and more) was Stockeld Park.

Stockeld Park is just a short drive from where we live in Yorkshire and we’re frankly, super lucky to have it on our doorstep. A magical place all year round, with its seasonal themed adventures, Stockled becomes extra sparkly and enchanting over the festive season with dazzling sculptures in their forest, a chance to meet Father Christmas and a winter menu to warm the cockles!

We were in for an extra treat this Sunday as we were greeted by new friends: none other than the Three Wise Men on ‘in real life’ camels as Xander exclaimed, during our visit.

Joining us for the weekend from Manchester were our great pals Carlie and James and their three kids- and watching the children eyes-wide and with huge grins, chatting to the talking trees and mermaid in the lake was something special.

Stockeld is like a fairytale in 3D, an immersive, engaging, dazzling park which provides hours of fun for all the family.

The kids playing so well together also meant we adults could catch up and have a laugh (mostly at my tipsy behaviour from the night before #lightweight). Carlie and I have known each other since we were kids ourselves- it’s been so long, we literally couldn’t remember when we were trying to reflect on Saturday. Maybe it was aged 11?!

I love that my two best friends, Carlie and Rebecca are friends I’ve known since we were girls-that shared history makes for such a special bond-and it’s made even more touching that our own kids get on so well too.

Happiness is old friends, fairy lights and hot chocolate with squirty cream. Eaten so quickly, there’s no time for pictures. Just memories. Precious memories.

Sunday was such a happy day.
