Statement Chiffon Midi Dress by TLM Edit

I’m certainly not feeling blue in this striking blue animal print chiffon midi dress by Lucinda of The London Mummy’s online boutique TLM Edit.

I wore the vibrant red version of this animal print dress a few weeks ago when I appeared on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and I honestly lost track of how many kind compliments I received about it.

Bold, beautifully made and effortlessly chic (animal print is a neutral after all), this is my kind of statement dress. It even has pockets!

Fashion is such an important mood-lifter and way to express yourself. I’m slowly rediscovering my style post third baby and it’s taken almost 2 years to embrace more colour and print in my wardrobe and to even wear dresses rather than sportswear day in and day out.

While I’ll always love classic black, it’s joyful to add more playful and bright pieces amongst the black (and recent autumnal-inspired camel addiction) and this reflects the next chapter in my identity as a mama of three. I assumed that by having two kids, three wouldn’t change who I was, in the way chaotic first-time motherhood does but I’ve felt like I’ve gone back in time, losing myself in the load of juggling three kids (it’s even more chaotic than the first baby) whilst keeping my career going. Losing a sense of self was inevitable but slowly and with more self-compassion and grace (thanks to therapy), I’m piecing myself back together now that I have a little more time to do so, a little more breathing space, now that Florence sleeps more and she’s settled into nursery a few half days a week. I’ve had time to visit my tailor to alter pieces and also do a little more shopping. I hope my therapist isn’t reading this but retail therapy is my favourite ;)! It might not have the same life-changing outcome but it certainly feels good!
