On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me…
a beautiful antique sapphire ring!
OK it was actually just after Christmas and instead of sending, we visited the jewelers together so I could choose what I liked ( I can be a fussy lady) but he did good, the lovely husband let me tell you!
Sapphires have a special place in my heart (who doesn’t love pretty blue jewels?!) and even pre Kate Middleton’s engagement sparkle!
In fact it was nearly 4 years ago on holiday in South Africa, where my husband Peter grew up that we decided to try to start a family and he presented me with a beautiful solitaire sapphire ring (any excuse for some bling, huh!). It’s sadly in storage at the moment so I can’t show you it but I can shower you with fabulous stills of these little stunners instead.
Second up is this breathtakingly beautiful sapphire and diamond bracelet, my darling Mummy gave me when my second son Alexander was born. It was a gift from my father to her ten years earlier. I adore it, especially as it has been so loved and meant so much to my Mum. I still can’t believe she gave it to me!
I did also receive a camera under the tree this year (firstly a Samsung) but it wasn’t quite professional enough for me so we upgraded to a Fuji XM1 which I love (I didn’t take these pictures though, these are Peter’s but I will be shooting more for the blogs) … Daddy’s Got Style definitely got a lot of bonus points for presents this year-think they might just last all year (let’s see)!
So how did I choose the ring?
I finally opted for this art deco flower setting with a diamond centre surrounded by sapphires after extensive research. Pretty huh?!
I truly realise I’m one lucky lady and will be treasuring my little treasures.
