Saving £290 by Switching Energy Suppliers with uSwitch + Competition
One of my many New Year’s Resolutions was to commit to saving money this year as it’s admittedly, not my greatest skill to-date (I blame the fact Zara is walking distance from where we live in Windsor) but I’m sticking to my word, people and have gone and saved my family a whopping £290 by spending just 10 minutes on the uSwitch website and switching energy supplier, meaning extra money for a slap up Sunday roast and bubbles and two weeks of food shopping money left over to boot! Yes to that!
Here we are on Sunday lapping up a Greek style roast chicken (cooked in olive oil with lots of oregano) and all the trimmings!
The kids’ faces in these pics are hilarious. They were happy, honest!
What a feast!!! And thanks to uSwitch.
Look, like you, I’m bombarded with endless save money hacks online and truth be told, I rarely act on them but I gave uSwitch a whirl and I’m flipping glad that I did because £290 was a welcome return. Some people even save up to £491 when they make the switch!
Six in ten households are on an expensive standard variable tariffs and therefore paying more than they need to for their energy which means by not switching away from them, loyal households could collectively be giving up £3.5 billion in potential savings. WOW! That’s enough for nearly 10 million family breaks to Marbella (where we’re heading this Easter) or 29 million family visits to a theme park! Think about it.
People save an average of £290 by switching supplier through uSwitch and they do all the hard work for you. All you need is a recent energy bill and you can switch on their website, app or on the phone with their UK call centre. There are lots of suppliers to choose from too, however their recent customer satisfaction survey shows that the new, challenger energy companies are leading the way in terms of customer service and price so consider those first.
Once you’ve chosen a deal that’s right for you, switching is 100% straightforward. It normally takes around 17 days for the switch to go through which includes a two week cooling off period and once you’re with your new supplier you’ll be asked for a meter reading – providing this and updating your readings every few months will make sure your bills are accurate and that you’re always paying the right amount. Easy.
If you need any more info then this guide will help.
Together with TV star and switching ambassador Rachel Riley, we’re asking you to switch away from expensive energy deals so you can save your money or spend it on what makes you happy like I have!
Rachel says, ‘Whether you’d like more money to spend on holidays, put into savings, or to treat your family and friends, you’d be sending a powerful message to energy companies that Britain won’t stand for rip-off energy prices anymore’.
There’s more important things in life than bills right so why spend more than you need to?
Switch over and go toast your own roast with some bubbles like we did on Sunday!
