Christmas is the time for friends and family to get together and as the ‘hostess with the mostess’, I love nothing more than having everyone round my maison to celebrate the festive season.
However, feeding the masses aka My Big Fat Greek Family is not always easy. As much as I love cooking, I want to make sure I’m spending time and entertaining our guests and not slaving away in the kitchen.
Unfortunately, I can’t afford my own personal chef like the A-listers (one day though hey?!) so this year I’m turning to Primula and their ‘Santa’s Snack Hacks’ to create quick, easy and ‘posh’ snacks for my guests.
I was asked by Primula to create my very own fuss-free snack for the party season, so I developed these super tasty ‘oatcake tasties’ that are perfect for both kids and adults, too!
- Primula cheese with chives Scottish smoked salmon, capers and fresh chives on gluten free oatcake.
- Primula original cheese with sun-blushed tomatoes, spring onion and chopped chives
Made with real cheese, Primula comes in several tasty flavours, from scrumptious prawn to my personal favourite with chives!
Available in these squeezy tubes, Primula is both mess-free and fuss-free and I love the fact that it’s gluten free too!
I always make sure to cater for both veggie and non-veggie guests.
For the salmon topped oat cake, start off by squeezing a generous helping of the cheese and chives Primula spread onto your gluten free oatcake (we like Nairn’s).
Then top with fresh Scottish smoked salmon, zesty capers and fresh chives to garnish.
…and of course a good squeeze of lemon juice.
For my veggie snack, start off with a good squeeze of Primula original cheese and top with spring onion, sun blushed tomatoes and chives.
I love the zestiness of the spring onion against the sweetness of the tomatoes and the creamy cheese. It’s the most wonderful flavour combination.
Guest satisfaction, guaranteed!
You can discover more of Primula’s perfect party recipes here and I’d love to hear any of your own Christmas snack hacks in the comments too.
Have a tasty and fun Christmas folks!
