The weekends are all about the family, a chance for the five us of to be together for two whole days without school-runs and after-school clubs.
There are music class runs to be fair in the early evenings but for the most part it’s just us lot, chatting, walking around Windsor (our favourite mode of transport) and eating. We’re big foodies in this house and thank goodness there are so many stellar restaurants right on our doorstep, to keep us busy. Just when I thought we’d made our way round them all in the four and a half years we’ve lived here, we were invited to the Flaming Cow Burger Restaurant, one we’d recklessly not visited.
Just over Windsor Eton Bridge in Eton, we would pass the place on the corner every day on the school-run, we’d always said we’d go in but hadn’t got around to it. And boy we were missing out.
The food is exceptional. I’m still dreaming about the epic chicken wings (the best I’ve ever eaten) in their sticky, sweet honey marinade (we lapped up the spicy, crunchy covered ones too) and their menu is brimming with juicy meat burgers and just as juicy vegan burgers, tangy California salad, crispy sweet potato fries and onion rings, creamy coleslaw and giant hot dogs. You name it, they’ve got it and let me tell you, the food, service and atmosphere is top notch.
Florence slept throughout the meal, letting us eat in peace!
Go check Flaming Cow out.
Miss it, miss out.
