Review of Graco’s SlimFit R129 Car Seat

It was time for my toddler, Florence, to progress on to a bigger car seat having outgrown her baby one (*wail) and thankfully, Graco’s SlimFit R129 car seat made for the perfect upgrade to keep my daughter safe whist supporting her growth.

Not only did we upgrade in size but we were able to try out Graco’s new model of car seat to boot, as their original and most popular SlimFit R44 convertible car seat had recently been adapted to meet the EU’s new R129 standards, undergoing more extensive side impact testing and importantly, ensuring our little ones stay rearward facing for longer: the safest way for them to travel. Yay!

Built to adapt and grow all the way, this 2-in-1 convertible car seat is packed with added features to grow with your child and their evolving needs making it a premium car seat.

How does it work?

The side impact protection pod attaches to either side of the car seat and in the event of a collision, it works to reduce the impact and better protects your child’s head, neck and spine.

SlimFit R129 adapts as your child grows both up and out.

When the headrest is raised, the side wings of the car seat simultaneously expand, keeping your kid comfortable and safe for as long as they ride in this convertible car seat.

SlimFit R129 easily transitions from a rearward-facing harnessed seat (40-105cm) to a forward-facing highback booster (100-145cm) to adapt as your child grows from baby to big kid. It’s the one-stop-shop car seat and we love it.
