I know, I know, I just got back from Jamaica, but luckily I’m off to Portugal for a girly break, reviewing a luxe resort out there with my Mum in a couple of weeks so thoughts of a summery holiday wardrobe are fully at the front of my mind.
When it comes to my clothes, I usually like to spend hours researching and planning my next purchases (that’s often the most fun bit of buying).
I love fashion (and when I say love I actually mean I have a borderline obsession), so I enjoy nothing more than grabbing a cuppa (or some nights a glass of wine), and flicking through the glossies or perusing online at the latest trends and must-have items of the season.
However, as both my family and blogging career have grown, the amount of ‘me time’ has diminished, so my wardrobe planning has been relegated from leisurely Saturday afternoons to a quick 10 minute browse before bedtime! Sob!
This lack of time also makes planning outfits for special occasions and holidays a little more difficult.
Recently, I’ve found myself making last minute mad dashes around the shops to find suitable outfits, making in the ‘heat of the moment’ and impulse purchases I often regret later.
I knew there had to be a better way than this, so I was delighted to discover lyst.co.uk – a fab website that acts as your very own digital personal shopper! Yay! Sound too good to be true, right? Believe me it’s amaaaaaaazing and has revolutionised how I plan my wardrobe and shop!
The website is home to all my favourite brands, from high street to high end designers and everything in between!
Where Lyst differs to other online stores, is that it allows you to curate your own digital wish lists – or wish lysts – featuring pieces you’d like to purchase.
Each ‘lyst’ can be categorised, allowing you to plan your outfits for every occasion with military precision!
As every list is visual, it really helps you decide which pieces go together. So with a girly weekend to Portugal with my Mama on the horizon, I’ve been using Lyst non-stop to plan my perfect holiday style.
With bright colours and vibrant dresses a-plenty, my Holiday Style list is literally bursting with dreamy summer pieces, big hats, statement necklaces and lots of print.
Above (and detailed below) are a few of my holiday must-haves:
Metallic Sun hat by Hat Attack £54
Black Metal Detail On Acetate Sunglasses by Saint Laurent £225
Printed Jaguar Shoulder Bag Clutch by Roberto Cavalli £325
Top by Kenzo £198
Orange Hazel Silk Cotton Mini Skirt by L.K Bennett £165
Chrystal Crescent Earrings by Helene Zubeldia £65
Brown Tribute Snake-Embossed Leather Sandals by Saint Laurent £682
I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of sunnies for a while now, struggling to find style I liked so when these Saint Laurent bad boys showed up on my feed I had to buy them!
Additionally, the great thing about Lyst is that it opens you up to new boutique brands that you might otherwise not have discovered!
Because of Lyst, I’m now infatuated with jewellery designer Helene Zubeldia, who I hadn’t previously heard of but who is now a firm fixture on my fashion radar…or fash-dar?
Aren’t these earrings just divine? And with 50% off it’d be rude not to wouldn’t it?!
If you’re suffering from fashion-block (which can happen regularly when living with with two mini sleep raiders), Lyst also has a whole section focusing on the site’s best stores and fashion influencers. Perfect for discovering what’s hot off the fashion presses!
There’s also a brilliant magazine style section called The Long Lyst, full of insightful articles on the fashion industry and exclusive interviews with the fashion industry’s most influential darlings. A must read for any fashionista!
Lyst genuinely has revolutionised how I shop and plan my wardrobe! It’s reignited my shopping addiction which in my opinion is no bad thing! Although my husband may just disagree…
Have you used Lyst? I’d love to hear about your style inspiration in the comments!
