Philip Kingsley (Trichologist to the Stars) Haircare Review:

For those of you who don’t know, Philip Kingsley is the authority on hair and trichologist to the stars, so when I was sent some of his products to review, the Greek curls on my head literally did a little dance. They’re clever like that.

So I have thick, over treated curly Cypriot hair (once referred to as a lion’s mane by a hairdresser-what the what?), it tends to get dry and frizzy at the first sight of rain and quite frankly requires a lot of TLC.  And I’ll be honest with you, it hasn’t always had it.

You see I get tired with the colour every couple of months and have been every shade from Rihanna style red to JLo honey blond and back to black. I know. What  can I say, my boredom threshold for hair colour needs some TLC too.

I have vowed to keep it natural now and am sticking to my chocolate brown roots. When I say natural, I mean dying it the closest I can back to my natural roots, covering up the various colour pile up over the years.  So nearly natural.

As you can imagine, finding the right products can be quite a challenge and has become a never ending hair journey for me. Step forward Philip Kingsley Shampoo Moisture Extreme (for porous, tight curls and all variations of ethnic textured hair, chemically processed etc etc…) tick, tick and tick. Closely followed by the Moisture Extreme Conditioner and Elasticizer Extreme Intensive Super Moisturising Treatment which promised to add elasticity, manageability and shine. YES PLEASE with some serum on top!

intensive

So off I trotted to get my hair blow-dried!

The shampoo worked in well and didn’t have an overpowering smell like some can and the conditioner and leave in extreme treatment left my hair feeling super soft before even brushing it through. Check out the bouncy curls below.

I’d highly recommend the range and if you’re luckier than I, and have more manageable hair or a different type be it fine, thinning, oily, less lion like- then there’s something for everyone on their website.

Right I’m off to whip my hair back and forth, whip my hair back and forth….

Gorgeous! My hair is out of control too. I have treated every 7 weeks to achieve this natural colour and need to style it to death or look like I have just tumbled out of an Eastenders market scene.

@Grenglish haha, an extra from Eastenders! I don’t believe that for a minute but know Philip K can help with even the most East End affected locks!
