A Bike Obsessed Little Boy.
My (just) 3 year old is not only obsessed with all things televisual: Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine and Mr Tumble but he’s also (thankfully) mad about outdoor activities such as riding his little bikes (we are currently on 5 including a hand me down from an older cousin along with a trike, motorbike style bike, toddler car, scooter and strider bike) as well as playing football (let’s hope he makes it pro and I can retire early).
Toddlers desperately need to release all that pent up teenager like frustration though and despite the weather, I try and get outdoors and active as much as possible (and the zillionth episode of Peppa Pig has finally ended). We go for long walks in the parks near us and even run around in the garden when the weather is cold so we get fresh air through the Winter.
The pink and purple car below is one of many vehicles the kid loves and was picked up from a store that literally sold everything from carpet cleaner to kid’s toys. It also plays music. When I say music, I mean dance music. One favourite of Oliver’s is the song “Boom, boom, boom, boom”. Yes, really. Luckily he doesn’t quite appreciate the full meaning of the lyrics. Thanks Vengaboys.
Despite the amount of bikes we have, Oliver now seems ready to progress to more advanced bikes (he’s confident on his strider bike so the time has come)… I’ve started searching for kids bikes from Argos as they have a wide selection of affordable raleigh bikes so hopefully by Summer he’ll be ready to move on from the disco bike to something a bit more substantial, without the inappropriate tunes of course! I will miss those songs though…
