Nothing changes if nothing changes.
Thank you to Pinterest and whoever was wise and witty enough to come up with that one. Genius. YES!
FYI, I’m currently sat eating melted dark chocolate with a teaspoon so some things never do REALLY change, but seriously there’s a lot of change happening in my life right now. Emotional change (the gift that is therapy and working on trusting myself more, carving out distinct boundaries, and handling grief better-I’m still angry 15 months on from losing my young aunt Zak) and physical change too as I’ve lost some but not all of the Christmas weight I put on and my throat post-thyroid op feels 2147467935650 x better than it has in years.
There are also new projects underway and transformations to mine and my family’s day-to-day lives.
I’m not changing my husband though, so don’t panic Peter hahaha…
I won’t lie, I feel rather unsettled right now but I know it’s natural to fear, or at least feel confused about change. That life isn’t the same as it was last year, last month or even last night. I’m out of my comfort zone in many respects, but I’ve been here before, in this vast space of WTF’s going to happen, and I know it’s the only place I grow. Where any of us grow.
That period of time where we stop accepting the status quo and we start pushing for more. More stimulation, more self-care, more time, happiness, health. MORE >.
While sky-diving into this new, unfamiliar terrain, I’m reminding myself that change is natural, and necessary (just look at the seasons), and I mustn’t not fight the free-fall. I’ve got to make the jump, enjoy the ride and cross my fingers that the view is better for all of us on the other side.
Because nothing changes if nothing changes.
