Nesting Mode…

OliverEven Oliver’s in nesting/cleaning mode as he helps clean and set the table.

I appear to be in full on crazy lady nesting mode right now and find myself obsessively organising like crazy. Even my Tivo box favourite shows are in order of preference (Kardashians and back issues of TOWIE first)-what I’m pregnant… and yesterday saw me sorting out my husband’s sock drawer. In my defence I was high on Celebrations chocolates and the latest episode of Corrie.

…And it’s not just socks-I got the husband (now with only 2 pairs of socks left to his name) to get up into the loft so I could rifle through every box in storage-removing, washing then ironing toddler Oliver’s wardrobe from birth to 2.

I seperated all the outfits, hats, gloves, babygrows, coats etc into ‘keepers’ and ‘non keepers’ categories before ironing for six hours flat before sorting everything into size and colour order in new ‘baby to be’s’ wardrobe.  I secretly loved every minute of this OCD style baby prep behaviour and watching MTV for 6 hours flat whiles ironing is not something to be scoffed at. There might have been some pregnant booty shaking to Jay Z going on simulataneously too…

All this organising has precipitated another obsession: selling. Literally everything from my unwanted gold to books I’ll never read again and vintage clothes and bags I no longer love.

I realise I might regret this mad selling episode but it’s helping financially (with a new pram, cot and baby accessories ordered) and it’s my pre baby Autumn clean out. Selling is satisfying. (Let me just add a disclaimer here that I’ve also given bags and bags of unwanted stuff to charity too…)

Nonetheless, I do still have tonnes of things I’d like to sell (anyone want a vintage Gucci bag?) so I’m considering creating a free websitefrom Webeden which is super easy to start up and will have me shifting my unwanted things in no time.  Talk about becoming a Mumpreneur weeks before the baby…

So what are your nesting stories? Please tell me I’m normal…
