My Signature Scents.
Perfume is so personal, not only does the final scent differ from skin to skin but we change our perfume to suit our mood and of course there are the ones we return to time and time again.
I adore having several on the go to match my mood (or put me in a certain frame of mind) or to simply transport me to a special day: my wedding, the birth of my children (OK the day I left hospital after the birth of my children when I remembered to spritz some perfume)-I’m not that HIGH maintenance…or holidays, I do love a new perfume on holiday, to bottle up (literally) the memories of sea and sunshine!
We associate smells with memories and even writing this post has brought so many happy times back!
This year I think another bottle of Chanel Mademoiselle will be making its way into my Christmas stocking (if the husband has taken note) but here are some others I need replenishing in the collection and who know’s maybe I’ll go wild and try something new too this year…things have changed a lot since I was 12 with my first bottle of White Musk from the Body Shop (awww, I still love that smell to this day)!
Picking up perfume couldn’t be easier be it Duty Free, online or in store
I’m definitely a parfum kind of girl as Eau de toilettes don’t seem to last on me, how about you?
Here are some of my favourite scents:
Chanel- Coco Mademoiselle
A perfume I will never tire of, whatever my mood or circumstance, Coco Mademoiselle makes me happy, safe and well, feels so me. A scent I wear most days, the jasmine and rose combination makes this the contemporary sister to the original Coco fragrance.
Marc Jacobs Daisy
A fresh, charming scent of plum, raspberry and wild rose, I opt for this in the summer and it takes me back to holidays in South Africa, awe inspiring safaris and balmy nights under the stars. Wow!
Cerruti 1881
This takes me right back to university and a girly holiday to Cyprus, where I was young, single and free of responsibility. I wouldn’t change my life now but it’s fun remembering my past! This only comes in Eau de toilette too which worked with my student budget. Amber, musk, vanilla and the signature note of fleur de lin, this is a girly, fun perfume to match my youth!
Theirry Mugler-Angel
I scent I wore a lot when Oliver was born, this reminds me of the heady of mix of shock and overwhelming love for my first child. A sensual fragrance, it made me feel womanly as did having my son. An exotic mix of jasmine, coconut, melon, bergamot and cotton candy. Delicious!
Tom Ford-Black Orchid for Women
This sumptuous darling is a must have buy for 2014-an elegant, sophisticated scent, I opt for this on an evening, romantic and sensuous it’s perfect for date night! Go on, try it. I dare you!
