Guys, I wrote a book! I wrote a freaking book, and a 70,000 word book at that (it might be 75,000 actually, my brain has turned to mush from all the writing so I can’t remember!
Truly though, I’ve poured so much love, time, passion and accumulated wisdom from the 7 years of blogging and vlogging into it, I hope it helps MANY!
It’s been a privilege and joy to write it even if it’s meant considerably less sleep over the last 9 months as I mostly wrote it between the hours of 10pm and 3 am. Ouch!
I hope it inspires many to seize this gloriously democratic, FREE, and liberating digital landscape for themselves, or equally return back to work after maternity-leave or a break, with renewed confidence and strength.
So what will you find inside:
In Mumboss, I encourage others to embrace my own mumboss manifesto where I explain how to balance work, passion and parenting (no easy task I know) whilst building confidence and even building a business, with tips on how to thrive in real, and digital life!
Topics covered include:
· Pre-Pregnancy: how to prepare to take time off of work
· Post-baby blues and building confidence after having a baby
· Deciding how/when to go back to work with tips on going back to work
· How to build a business at home
· Juggling work/life balance
· How to overcome feeling a failure as a mum or in your career, if you choose to do both
· How to continue to thrive in the mumboss way of life.
As I mentioned, it’s taken me 9 months to write this book and it really feels like my third baby. I can’t wait to release/give birth to it (that sounds WEIRD) on the 3rd of May 2018 and I will literally squeal and quite possibly booty-shake when I see it in the shops!
Do you like the book cover? It felt very Sex and the City sitting in the publisher’s meeting with my manager and PR scrawling through all the images from the shoot to find the one that embodied who I am and what the book is about.
This is the one everyone mutually agreed should be the cover.
I made a vlog of the behind-the-scenes of the book cover shoot too to give you an insight into what went on, on the day. It’s a film I’ll always treasure!
Huge thanks to the glam squad and creative giants who made the cover happen: photographer Joseph Sinclair, Hair Stylist Jason Collier, Make-Up Lauren Kay, Manager Neil Ransome and Commissioning Editor Jillian Young. What a dream team!
