Preparing for Baby No 2’s arrival got me thinking back to other monumental days and most recently our wedding day-we celebrated our 7 year anniversary (6 years since the Greek wedding, 7 since the English) last month and time has truly flown by!
Being the second best day of my life (Oliver, the first), I thought I’d share some of the special moments of our Greek wedding. We had an English wedding the year before in South Africa (a different dress-lucky me) in a stunning hotel overlooking the sea which was wonderful but as I am originally Greek Cypriot I wanted to marry in the Greek Church- so a year later we did.
My amazing husband took ‘Greek lessons’ and even got christened for me, for the occasion. “It was his lucky day to become a Greek Orthodox” as the movie quote goes and My Big Fat Greek Wedding (without the tack) and sadly the $400 million dollar box film to match-(maybe one day!) can be seen below. Enjoy.
My dress was by renowned French Designers Cymbeline so lots of Paris trips for fittings with my Mum which was fab and the wedding reception was at the very beautiful Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate. It was a perfect day-so much so I’d love to do it all again. Renewal of wedding vows perhaps?
