My 42nd Birthday

42nd birthday

Wednesday was the best day of the year* as it was my birthday and like my most favourite pasttimes now I rarely sit done with three kids, all I wanted was a  low-key, chilled out day with the family and that’s exactly what I got, firstly brunching in Roundhay Park at The Garden Room Cafe for perfect poached eggs and smoked salmon (Florence inhaled some lemon drizzle cake the lucky little lady) before fish and chips (only a few chips for me as I’m determined to stick to a low carb diet now after months of indulgence) from our local takeaway with the rest of the family. I’d luckily received the MOST stunning diamond ring as a joint 40th and 42nd birthday present from my husband Peter after searching online and IRL for the perfect engagement ring upgrade (I know so much about diamonds now, I could change careers and move into jewellery to be fair so shout if you need any advice). I’m incredibly grateful.

Saturday sees the celebrations continue with some of the girls for a boozy lunch and letting my hair down out of the top-knot! Mama gets merry incredibly easily these days so I’ll definitely need to pace myself.

…My friends and family have utterly spoiled me with gorgeous gifts, cards and messages. I think the best things about birthdays is that they remind you of how respected and loved you are. Awww. This time last year, I had a 5 day old in my arms as the best birthday present in the world. Our darling daughter Florence who recently turned one.

Yay for another year around the son, my 42nd year and feeling fabulous. Wishing you all health and happiness.

*After my kids’ birthdays!

(I bought Florence’s rainbow cardigan from the wonderful Freds Kids, bib was gifted from My Cove Baby, Cake Toppers a gift from Little Big Party Co and my ring was bought from Hamptons Jewellers in Harrogate).
