I’m a real Mulberry Girl. In fact, you could probably say I’m obsessed. So obsessed that my 35th birthday cake was in the shape of my trusty Bayswater.
Talk about arm candy!
My love for Mulberry knows no bounds, ever since I bought my first Mitzy East West Hobo bag which came in a stunning purple. Sadly, Mitzy is now in handbag heaven (sob) and has been discontinued, but my passion for all things Mulberry is very much alive.
Here I am with my fave Bayswater in tan.
Mulberry’, of course, come with a hefty price tag (luckily for me I live close to a Mulberry Outlet in York…oh hey there dream store!), but they are an investment piece and worth the dollar. Take good care of it and it will age beautifully. Classic bags will also retain their value too.
Most importantly, I love how my Bayswater makes me feel. It’s a reminder of my achievements, the hard work I’ve put into building my career. I often treat myself to a designer bag to mark milestones met.
I love the change in direction from Mulberry in recent years. Creative Director Johnny Coca joined the company in July 2015 and has transformed this this iconic British brand.
In just 18 months he has made some bold decisions which include redesigning the logo by changing the typeface and removing the Mulberry tree icon as well as revamping the Bayswater, a design that hasn’t changed since the bag was launched in 2003.
In addition to the new Bayswater, Coca is responsible for some of this season’s most striking bags. Think strong, defined structures, preppy colour combos (inspired by the Oxbridge Colleges) and the softest, buttery leather.
So I wanted to show you my favourite pieces from this season’s collection. Get ready to swoon folks!
Darley in Burgundy, Lemon & Midnight Smooth Calf & Shiny Lamb, £795
This school uniform inspired handbag gets an A+ in the style stakes. I love the quintessentially British colour palette which screams Harry Potter, combined with the chic detachable gold chain and namesake lock closure. Need, need, need!
Bayswater with Strap in Oxblood, Lemon & Midnight Small Classic Grain, £1195
Another bag that’s simply too cool for school. Keeping with this season’s signature uniform palette, this revamped Bayswater has a more structured silhouette and defined features than its predecessor, while remaining a timeless classic.
Chiltern Backpack in Black Natural Grain Leather, £895
Technically this is from the men’s department, however, I’ve never been one to let gender stereotypes get between me and a good accessory. Rucksacks are the fashionistas’ bag of choice and I love this simple yet classic design. Plus it’s roomy enough to even my laptop in.
Tyndale Navy Croc Print, £1,195
Invest in this croc print Tyndale and the only tears you’ll be shedding will be ones of joy. This bag is glam with a capital G and is the perfect statement piece for your arm.
Oversized Bayswater in Midnight, White & Burgundy Small Classic Grain, £1,550
Perfect for us mumbosses, this oversized version of the Bayswater is perfect for fitting your entire life in – wet wipes and all!
Pembroke Black & White Smooth Calf & Shiny Lamb £1,450
I love how 80’s this bag is with its monochrome print and gold chain. I just need some killer shoulder pads and a perm, and I’m ready to take on the world 😉
Bayswater with Strap in Bright Orange Small Classic Grain, £1,095
Bright orange is synonymous with luxury leather goods and this Bayswater is the perfect way to add a pop of colour to neutral outfits. Wear with all black and oversized shades and make a powerful fashion statement.
Abbey Macaroon Pink & Scarlet Small Classic Grain, £595
Pink to make my boys wink. I love this chic and feminine shade of leather. It’s the perfect spring bag and the bucket design makes it perfect for fitting my day-to-day items.
Cherwell Pouch in Chalk, Royal Blue & Coral Red Smooth Calf & Shiny Lamb, £250
For ladies who like to travel light (which definitely rules out us bloggers!), the Cherwell Pouch is the perfect for you lot. Personally, I’ll be using it as a party bag for cocktails with the girls, wearing it as a wristlet. They’ll be no dancing around my handbag tonight!
So what do you think of my picks? Are you a Mulberry fan? And will you be investing in a new handbag this season. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
