Following our inaugural event for Stylist’s Reclaim Your Lunch Break events, we are hosting the second instalment of our ‘Turning Passion Into Pounds’ workshops in partnership with the prestigious British Library.
Taking place on Friday 8th of April, this inspirational evening will see myself, Jessica and an incredible panel of women (more on that soon…) imparting advice, experience and practical tips in creating business in the digital field.
This is ideal for anyone who wants to work for themselves, on their own terms in a flexible, remote way where YOU are in control.
As a multi-award winning TV director and filmmaker and the founder of critically acclaimed parenting and lifestyle blog Honest Mum, and its sister blog, Mummy’s Got Style, I will be sharing my own personal journey of transforming this site here from an online diary into one of the UK’s most popular blogs operating as an e-zine and sees me working with global brands as well as securing endorsement deals along with modelling, presenting and consultancy work.
One of my greatest passions in life is helping other women harness their potential and achieve. I hope this event will inspire and inform.
Jess was just 34 when she was awarded with her MBE in recognition of her contribution to diversity and influence on her community. She launched Color Blind Cards in 2006, inspired by the high street’s lack of representative multicultural greeting cards following a shopping trip for a card to boost her daughter’s (then aged 7) self-esteem.
The award-winning multiracial greeting card and gift company is credited with having made history as the first company to secure a presence for a black card range in the UK high street (Clinton Cards 2007) with a range which is currently stocked in ASDA stores and department and independent stores around the UK.
In 2008 Jessica founded JH Public Relations, a PR agency representing personalities and entrepreneurs. The roster has included Samuel Jackson’s Glittering Stars in Dessert Nights event, Kelly Rowland and former Dragon’s Den star Hilary Devey. Jessica, who was winner of the Daily Mail’s Enterprising Young Brit award was named one of Britain’s Most inspiring entrepreneurs by the Evening Standard and sits on Glamour Magazine’s Power List as one of the UK’s most influential women.
Jessica is Ambassador for The British Library and conducts monthly workshops at the venue teaching small business owners how to raise their profile on a budget.
…Now onto the panel and boy have we managed to curate an outstanding group of inspirational women (even if I do say so myself…)
