When it comes to maternity wear, 21st Century ‘Mamas-To-Be’ have never had it so good.

Once upon a time, way back when, being pregnant meant embracing what can only be described as erm, ‘tent chic’-smocks were loose, cavernous and frankly, frumpy and wouldn’t look amiss in the Glastonbury Festival camp site, providing shelter for at least 10 festival goers.

Don’t believe me?

Just Google ‘maternity clothes 1980s’ and you’ll see that being pregnant meant spending 9 months in the fashion hinterland!

Fast forward 3 decades and it’s a whole different playing field.

Maternity clothing is equally as stylish as regular fashion lines, whilst the pregnancy style of A-listers – such as Heidi Klum, Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian – is coveted by fashion editors and fashionistas alike.

Whatever your personal style, you can now find maternity clothing to suit.

In fact, when I was pregnant with both Oliver and Alexander, I genuinely believe it helped me develop my fashion mojo and I learnt to find garments that truly flattered my body shape then and now.

This is something I actually wrote about a couple of years ago for Seraphine, my go-to label whilst pregnant. Their clothing is also a firm favourite of none other than a certain Duchess of Cambridge, who was snapped several times when pregnant wearing their luxe dresses. Regal company then!

…The Psarias-Broadbent family has had a bit of good news recently ourselves and I’m finally allowed to announce that my brother Solos’ fiancée Lucy is pregnant!

This has been perfectly timed with Seraphine opening their first UK store outside of London in our hometown of Leeds (thanks Seraphine);).

Check out the Leeds boutique: it is so utterly beautiful and chic; we’re already planning girly shopping trips to the store now that the ‘bump’ has started to make an appearance and I know that Lucy (who has a similar style to myself) will love their chic wrap dresses and elegant separates just as much as I did when I was pregnant.

Not only are Seraphine’s designs super stylish but they’re also comfortable and easy to wear – a must, particularly in that final trimester when the bump is big and even walking can be tiring.

The new Leeds store is located in the equally glamorous Victoria Quarter – often referred to the ‘Knightsbridge of the North’ – nestled amongst luxe retailers Space NK, Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton under the ornate arcades.

And I have some good news for pregnant ladies nationwide as I have teamed up with Seraphine on an exclusive competition to win a £100 voucher to be spent on their recently launched AW15 collection.

Their new pieces are so exquisite, I actually feel broody just looking at them.

I’ve already been eyeing up the collection for Lucy and picked out a few of my favourites below:

seraphine black and white wrap dress

Stop traffic in this gorgeous black and white geo print wrap dress (£55). It’s their best selling dress and its easy to see why.

cashmere maternity coat by seraphine

Finding a winter maternity coat that flatters can be tricky, but fear not ladies as this wool and cashmere Seraphine number (£149) is fitted in all the right places and effortlessly stylish too.

woven crepe dress

The 70s trend is still big news next season and this woven crepe dress (£55) is incredibly complimentary even as ‘bump’ grows. The Bordeaux-hue is perfect for winter too. Gorgeous!

woven print dress

I love this playful printed dress (£59) which is both comfortable and flattering in equal measure. I’d pair with chunky heeled boots and a heavy knit cardigan for an effortlesly stylish winter day look.

Divine huh?! I can’t wait to take Lucy shopping and introduce her to this stunning collection.

You too, can view their entire AW15 collection here.

The Seraphine Leeds store is located 10/12 Cross Arcade, Victoria Quarter, LEEDS, LS1 6AZ
