Champneys Tring

An invitation to stay at Champneys Tring a couple of weeks ago, came at exactly the right time for me three weeks on from a thyroid op for a much-needed girly break where TLC was the name of the day. Two days in fact.

Isn’t Champneys Tring a beauty?

Champneys Tring

Taking along one of my best mates, Mirka of All Baby Advice and Fitness 4 Mamas, we whiled away our time lapping up the sunshine on loungers in the grounds, sipping smoothies and green tea in between dips in the pool and hot tub when the mood took us.

IT WAS BLISS.

Just what the doctor ordered. Literally.

Champneys, we love you!

Mirka is a star swimmer.

My beautiful sister from another mister, this one makes the best plus 1 imaginable and we’re already planning more breaks together.

It’s thanks to Mirka, my Mum and I got a gorgeous luxe break in Portugal a few years back so this trip was quality time with one of my closest friends in the world and a belated thank you too.

Thank you MM.

The spa is utterly dreaming-as were the facials (more of that to come)….

First let’s take a minute to salute the food.

With both delicious and nutritious dishes at every meal (devised by a dietitician no less) with plenty of plant-based options for me too (the vegan pea and asparagus risotto below was out of this world), we loved filling our boots without feeling bloated.

We were also lucky enough to be invited to a special vegan breakfast to celebrate the launch of Champney’s new vegan skincare range and I’m not sure I’ve photographed anything prettier. Champneys sure know how to throw a (healthy) party!

It wasn’t just the food that was on point either, the facials were the best we’ve ever experienced and gave us a chance to test the new skincare collection too which you can lucky enter to win at the bottom of the post!

Now let me show you around…Champneys Tring is enveloped in pretty palatial grounds and offers stunning rooms to those wanting to stay over rather than opting for just a day visit. Our suite was elegant luxe with a stand alone bath of dreams in the en suite, and ALL the velvet cushions you could want or need- yet nothing felt stuffy or pretentious. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the gardens uplifting with rose notes seeping through the hotel and spa and the latter offers an expansive list of treatments placing you in the capable and expert hands of the beauticians there (literally).

When it came to my facial, I couldn’t wait to try Champney’s new 7 piece collection which is vegan, cruelty and paraben free and includes a cleanser, toner, day cream, facial exfoliator, eye gel, night cream and overnight face mask.

It was made by therapists for therapists and the creator Liz Chamberlayne had talked us through these gentle, vegan products over breakfast (I’m super-sensitive but didn’t react to any and adored them all) and made for the most rejuvenating and soothing facial of my life.

The range is all handmade in the UK and features the finest selected English essential oils including Rose, Bergamot, Lavender, Rosemary and blue chamomile. The range is also sulphate (SLS) free and synthetic and fragrance free.

Nicola Sapsed, Champneys Spa Development Manager says: ‘At Champneys we perform more facials each year that any other UK spa, and so it seems only fitting to launch our own new skincare range for people to use at home’.

The range is available at all Spa resort boutiques, City Spas and Champneys.com as well as in Boots and is priced from £14.

I go to my local treatment spa once a month for reflexology and face threading. I coukd really do with a staycation after this year and the unexpected passing of my husband. It would be just the tonic

What a beautiful house! such a fab setting. You are so lucky getting to go there and get pampered. I love a bubble bath myself. To be honest, I’d like to win, but not for me; I’d give it to my mum who looks after Grandma and doesn’t have much time to herself anymore as Grandma has dementia.

Wow, this looks stunning, we went to Ragdale hall last year and I have serious Spa withdrawals! So winning a piece of luxury would really help 😉

The stay looked like the perfect treat for besties. I would love to do this with mine, she’s been through a rough time, might have to look into it! I’d love to win the skincare range because that type of product is always something that falls to the bottom of my list below bills, feeding and clothing the family etc. I get the occasional high street product, but never a nice full set. It would be a nice treat.

Wonderful pictures – especially the food. The risotto looks amazing! I’m unlikely to manage a stay there myself, but I’d love to try the skincare range!
