Making Our Apartment Pretty with Posterlounge + Competition

Advertorial.

Mother and child print

You can never have enough art or flowers in your home as far as I’m concerned. It’s what my mother taught me and nobody argues with my mother ;).

Both here in our apartment in Windsor and in the house our tenants are living in back in Yorkshire, you’ll find our walls adorned with originals by friends and peers alongside a multitude of prints and framed posters amongst vases of faux flowers and pots of houseplants.

While this apartment is our temporary home until we buy a house nearby, each piece of wall art, and item of furniture for that matter, has been carefully considered so it works in this space but also in any future space, too.

I’ve shared our home in Windsor lately in the Metro and was touched by all your kind comments on my home decor. I’ve purposefully kept things clean, modern, functional and minimalist so the furniture can adapt to either a modern or period home depending on what we buy, letting the art and flowers make a colour statement.

This is why I’ve chosen these much loved classic, vibrant and bold pieces c/o Posterlounge for our lounge and bedrooms.

I opted for large prints in black frames either at 70 x 90 cm or 70 x 100 cm but there are lots of options when it comes to sizes, frames and material, allowing you to choose whether you would like your pieces as a wall sticker or a print on canvas, aluminum, foam, wood and more.

Beautifully made and of the highest quality, these are prints and frames made to last.

I selected Lady and a Fan and Mother and Child both by Gustav Klimt and Water Lilies by Claude Monet (one of the first paintings I ever recreated at school many moons ago and the piece that began a lifelong love affair with art).

You’ll often find me on the sofa once the kids are asleep, candle lit, Classic FM on, staring into the pieces, losing myself in the swirls of the brush strokes. It’s my meditation.

…The world map for children (which comes in English too) is a foam print so makes for a safe option for a child’s bedroom as you forgo the glass and being foam it won’t cause pain if it falls etc.

The map is in German to encourage to help my boys as they’ve embarked on French and German lessons and makes for an engaging and educational addition to their room. I was in the midst of a clothes’ sort-out in their room when we took the photos so you can see the map here, propped up on the sofa in the lounge as they guessed the country names.
