It’s a heart-breaking fact that 250,000 babies are lost every year to miscarriage.

The vital baby charity, Tommy’s does so much incredible work in this area and has recently announced it’s ambitions to raise £2m to open the UK’s largest clinical centre dedicated to preventing early miscarriage.

Set to open in April 2016, this pioneering centre’s work will ensure that every family has the best chance of having a healthy baby.

Ahead of the opening, the luxe maternity brand Séraphine is collaborating with Tommy’s on their #Justforlove collaboration which has been backed by top advocate of the charity and pregnant mum of four, Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Sophie is modelling the new super cool love t-shirt with the wonderful ‘you + me = us’ slogan t-shirt Séraphine designed. I simply love the sweet illustrated style of the tee.

For each t-shirt sold £13 will be donated to Tommy’s, and Séraphine hopes to raise £100,000 towards the new treatment centre.

This will be the 10th year that this award-winning fashion brand has worked with the charity.

Commenting on this project, Sophie Ellis Bextor says, ‘As a mother, Tommy’s is a charity that’s close to my heart. For the past 24 years Tommy’s have been doing amazing work to ensure that every family has the best chance of having a healthy baby. This year, they are focusing on addressing the tragedy that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage’.

It’s an honour to also be supporting this campaign and i’ll be wearing my t-shirt with pride! Whether you are a mum or not, this is such an important cause to support so please consider helping them reach their targets.

Not only is it great to give money towards the charity, the chic slouchy tee with its grey marl effect is chic too, I loved mine over skinny jeans.

Little one is photobombing me with his hands!

See my photo on Séraphine‘s SITE where you can buy the t-shirt and if you want to upload a photo in the tee to that page, Séraphine will donate an additional pound to Tommy’s!

The tee retails at £29.

That 1 in 4 statistic just doesn’t seem real somehow. Every time I hear it — and I say this having experienced a miscarriage just before I fell pregnant with Little Man — it makes my jaw drop, it’s so astonishingly high. Heartbreaking, and I still get moments of grief now. That was a very difficult time and my heart goes out to all the women (and men) who are going through this now.

The t-shirt looks lovely, which is good ’cause I’ve just followed the link and bought one. Thank you for sharing this cause with us.

Aw – this is really sweet. I just subscribed to your blog. I had 2 early miscarriages – and 1 living child in between. It would be amazing if new discoveries came out that could prevent them. My heart always goes out to all the ladies who have to go through it. <3

Love this! The t-shirt caught my eye on social media and I like the sound of anything that looks cool while also giving back. I know from personal experience how heartrending it is to lose a baby through miscarriage, and it’s great to hear that Tommy’s is planning the new early prevention centre. Oh and congrats again to Sophie Ellis-Bextor! Thanks for sharing this important post x
