I am incredibly honoured that Sport Relief have asked me to become an ambassador for the Sport Relief Games. I received their call last week and as a family, we have sprung into action and cannot wait to raise some money for this vital cause, along with hopefully inspiring others (you guys) to join in with the games yourselves.
I hope you guys can help.
If you’re not already aware of the Sport Relief Games, the nation is being encouraged to walk, run, swim or cycle themselves PROUD at tonnes of events on the 20th March 2016.
The Games will be taking place at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park as well as Belfast, Cardiff, Glasgow, Norwich and Sheffield – and with hundreds of local events across the UK, I hope you can join me.
Together with my family, I will be walking for 3 miles at the Sheffield Sport Relief Games. I considered 6 but wasn’t sure my 3 year old could hack more than 3!
You can fund my own sponsorship page HERE (pretty please).
A big high five and thank you!
These Sports Games flagship events promise to be EPIC family days out and once you’ve done your bit, you can enjoy entertainment and activities across all the various venues too.
To find an event in your local area and sign-up please visit sportrelief.com

Where does the fundraising money go?
By raising cash this Sport Relief, you will help people living incredibly tough lives.
Half of all the money raised by the public for Sport Relief is used to make a difference, right here at home in the UK. The other half is used to transform lives across the world’s poorest communities.
- Just 20p could buy malaria medication for a child in Africa
- £5 could buy textbooks for a child living in a Bangladeshi slum, helping them to get an education
- £10 could enable an isolated person with dementia in the UK to attend a weekly support group
- £30 could send a young person in the UK affected by gang violence on a sports training programme for a month to increase their confidence and help them make positive choices
I’am going to be sharing our sponsored walk on the blog as well as making some vlogs of our experience, so you can follow my family and I on our fundraising journey.
I will also be visiting STEP (Supporting The Elderly People) in Leeds, a project which will be directly supported through Sport Relief.
STEP helps over 60s live independent, secure and content lives in their own homes by offering support and advice such as help with concerns over money and house upkeep, involving them in social events and importantly companionship.
Check back on the blog soon to read and watch my posts and vlogs.
Please, please, please consider signing up for the games yourself (it promises to be a fun day for all the family) and of course, I’d really appreciate you considering sponsoring me.
Your support will make a HUGE difference to so many.

I’ve sponsored you and the boys Vicki…. I hope my note on your sponsorship page makes you smile!! x
Aw LOVED it babe and thank you darling for sponsoring us, really appreciate it (no heels on the day, promise-ha)! x
Hi Vicky, I think that Sports Relief is a fun way to raise awareness and funds for good causes across the globe. All the causes mentioned are worthy, but I like the sound of STEPS, as helping older people who need help manage in their own homes must be a great relief to those people.
It’s fantastic that your whole family is getting involved with raising money for Sports Relief and I hope you are all fit and well for the occasion.
xx
Thank you Debbie, I can’t wait to share more about my visit, an incredible charity. We can’t wait for our sponsored walk now 🙂 x
This is great and super you are onboard. We saw the t shirts on sale in Sainsburys this week but I wasn’t sure what we could do. Then I saw SimplySwim and thought we might manage that. Thanks got spreading the word!
Oh fab thanks for joining in 🙂
So awesome that you’re an ambassador for this – I love Comic & Sport Relief. Brilliant cause and event. & you’re doing yours in my home town Sheffield, though I have emigrated (not entirely willingly) to the South now! #briliantblogposts
Oh how wonderful, excited to visit Sheffield again for it 🙂
Well done to you and your family. Such a great thing to do. And congratulations on being an ambassador.
#brilliantblogposts
Thanks lovely x
Hahahaha love the video – what do they say, don’t work with kids or animals. Looks like Xander is both! Good luck with the walk and great choice to be an ambassador 🙂
Bahaha I know right?! Hilare!
Feeling inspired to sign my family up will check if there are any events near me. My boys are obsessed with being dogs at the moment the licking is making me insane!
Aw that’s great news, thanks for wanting to take part. Youngest loves pretending to be a dog!
How great is that?! What a great reason to get up and go for it! I love walking for various charities so I will have to see where our nearest event is! 🙂
#brillblogposts
Aw absolutely, really excited to be taking part, thank you for wanting to, too x
Well done to you and your family for such a wonderful campaign! I think I’ll be looking out for any sport relief activity nearby so I can get involve too. Love your video, find your little boy so funny! #brillblogposts
Thanks so much, Xander is hilarious. Thank you for wanting to take part in such an incredible cause x
Sounds like fun! My daughter’s school are doing a few events for Sports Relief – she told me today she wants to wear a football kit to school on the day. Of course she doesn’t have one, so something else to go out and buy!
Aw bet she will look fab and amazing schools are doing so much to raise money for charity x
Superb! My 10 year old stepdaughter is swimming a mile for Sport Relief and has already raised £250! She’s been wanting to do it for 2 years, since I did the Team Honk relay involving a flotilla of mobility scooters. I’m impressed as I can’t even swim 100 metres but her dedication to this, and her raising money, is exemplary, as is your wish and will to do so. Bravo!
That’s wonderful to read Spencer, so amazing to get our kids involved, raising money for charity. Thanks for your comment.
Best of luck fundraising. I’m sure you’ll do the walk with ease! Couldn’t think of a better ambassador! Thanks for hosting #BrillaintBlogPosts. Off to read some other posts now.
Thanks so much John, so kind and thank you for sponsoring us, meant a lot 🙂
You’re awesome for doing this. Good luck, I’m sure you’ll have lots of fun. I’m running a half marathon on the 20th of March, I didn’t know about the Sports Relief event at the time of registration. Maybe next year.
Thanks Andrea, still time to sign up or attend events if you fancy it x
Such an awesome cause – go you! xx

Amazing that you guys are doing this – you are so awesome 🙂 Sport is so important (she says whilst procrastinating starting her work out by reading blog posts and this is a brilliant cause). I’m going to look into getting involved. xx
Thanks darling, be awesome if you can take part 🙂 x
Great campaign, and love all the events. My youngest turns 2 on the 20th March so we have plans. I’m not sure sponsored cake eating ties in with Sport Relief! Will be making a donation. Gorgeous photos as always. #brilliantblogposts
Great post! Wish I lived in the UK so I could join in! #brillblogposts x
You can still raise money lovely from anywhere in the world, shame you can’t make the actual events. Lots of inspiration on their site here: http://www.sportrelief.com/
You are so brilliant for doing this – we’re signing up for a 3 mile one as we don’t think the youngest can manage more either! It could be total chaos but it will definitely be fun!
Well done again lovely – this is such a great and worthy campaign! x x x
Woo hoo! Love the video and it’s so amazing that you’re an ambassador for such a good cause honey, can’t wait to hear how it goes! Off to sponsor you RIGHT NOW xxx

What a worthy cause and I’m impressed that your whole family is taking part! Just one question, you mention “taking place in the iconic” and then there is a blank…
Oh whoops will go and edit that, thank you! It is also being held at the iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. I hope you can take part xx
