I LOVE my blogging life, it’s everything and more I could have wished for from a way of life and full time job which sees me share what matters to me.
Most of all, I cherish the friendships this blog has brought me.
The women and men I now call great friends, family, collaborators and confidantes- kick-ass mamas (and papas) I literally feel I’ve known forever.
5 years in blog world is like cat years. All those 140 characters on twitter and endless blog posts create REAL connections.
I owe this blog BIG TIME for so many incredible friendships-
And one of these, cemented via blogland is with brilliant journo and blogger Helen of MUMMYMODE.
E-meeting over twitter originally, connecting over our shared values (and a love of style of course), Helen has become a blogging sister to me, someone I chat to via DM mostly, nearly every day and whom I love to catch up with IRL whenever we both get some free time from our busy family/work lives.
And last Sunday saw us do just that.
Being Valentine’s Day, I enjoyed a busy morning with my three ‘boys’ making pancakes for breakfast before heading to Castleford, close to Helen’s in-laws, for an EPIC carb and prosecco fuelled feast at Pizza Express with pal Helen.
Putting the world to rights, laughing over pizzas the size of our FACES (bigger, even)- and chatting until our jaws ached, these meets with my girl make me so freaking happy.
The oh-so precious, uplifting energy between us is just MAGIC. It truly energises me and I leave bouncing on air.
Simply-put, we had the BEST time.
Isn’t blogging blooming awesome?
To meet like-minded mamas whom are there for you in the good times and the bad, who know you, in some cases more than your oldest friends.
People who 100% understand the world you live and work in. This often crazy digi-life you now call home.
Folks who simply get you.
Have your back.
Know your goals.
Want the best for you.
And give you the most thoughtful Valentine’s gifts (hello DKNY limited edition Be Delicious Electric perfume in a neon orange bottle I heart).
I’m so lucky to have Helen in my life: smart, sisterly, so charismatic and cool, I just wish she’d move up North so I can could hang out with her more.
What a super chick.
My beautiful blue eyed blogging babe.
