Florence’s First Birthday Party (Unicorn and Rainbow Themed)

This weekend was dedicated to celebrating Florence’s first birthday, culminating in a joyous party for our little princess at my parents’ excellent restaurant Giorgios, in Leeds.

Florence loved every minute of her special day, and lapped up the food, toys and attention (with a nap thrown in of course). She was thoroughly spoiled by family, friends and her wonderful godmothers, Juliet, who you’ll know as the award winning author Dr Juliet McGrattan I met thanks to the glorious internet (!) and Rachael who I’ve known since I was sixteen. Two best friends to me and two incredible aunties to Florence. What lucky ladies we are!

The day was everything I’d hoped for and more. It was filled with laughter, non-stop chatter and immense love for little Florence Catherine.

Florence is my beloved rainbow baby so I fittingly opted for a magical unicorn and rainbow theme for the party with dreamy decorations from the exquisite Little Big Party Co who generously gifted the following, pink checked tablecloths and pretty cups, plates, settings, table decorations, napkins, cake toppers, candle, balloons and banners that worked effortlessly to bring so much fun, character and colour to proceedings.

The unicorn cake (with pink and lilac rainbow filling no less) and the selection of decorative iced buns were from Waitrose and tasted utterly delicious. Soft, creamy and not too sweet!

Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to my parents who kindly hosted the party at their incredible Italian restaurant. What a memorable day!

 

Here’s to another year of fun and not enough sleep, no doubt with the sweetest girl who keeps us all on our toes with her energy, love and light!
