holidayFamily holidays are the best aren’t they?

As much as I love my girlie trips away and romantic breaks with my husband Peter, going away with my kids is the ultimate happy maker!

I have been incredibly lucky this year to jet off to some wonderful holiday destinations with the family, such as the Jalon Valley in Spain with James Villas and the awe-inspiring Ochos Rios in Jamaica, home to THE most incredible sunsets and crystal clear sea.

Holidaying with kids is such a magical experience. Watching Xander learn to swim in the warm Jamaican sea made me so incredibly proud and seeing how both boys bonded in Spain was truly touching.

Jamaica

As incredible these experiences are, I’m not going to lie, holidaying as a family can be STRESSFUL!

Now I was surprised, my kids were as good as gold on the 10 hour flight-sometimes it’s hard getting them round the supermarket in peace, but the extra luggage (did we pack the whole house?) and travelling with buggies (and you thought lugging your suitcase was annoying?) was a little tough-going at times!

Luckily those stresses melted on arrival but anything that can de-stress the experience of travelling with kids is a winner in my eyes.

For example, when we stayed at the Beaches Resort in Jamaica, the entire resort was tailored towards families and the whole experience was a breeze – especially when you had a bunch of Sesame Street characters on hand for bedtime story reading duties!

And, this is why I also love the Family Insurance package by the award-winning travel insurance specialists Holidaysafe.

Specifically tailored for holidays with kids, the family package provides peace of mind knowing that wherever you are in the world you and your family will receive the best possible medical care minus the prospect of returning home to huge bills.

They even offer a Doctor managed medical emergency helpline which is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. How’s that for peace of mind!

The insurance is perfect for parents of active kids like myself as they offer automatic cover for over 100 sports and activities, as well as winter sport packages too for families of ski bunnies!

It also covers all your gadgets including buggies, car seats and strollers!

What’s more it is also fantastic value too! Family policies start from just £15.27 for full family cover as children under the age of 21 travel for free with great discounts for single parent families and 10% off when you book using the code HSK10

Jamaica is so lovely, I would like to take our children there sometime. We went before we had the children and I loved it, the people out there are so relaxed and easy going, unless you go to the markets 🙂 Having never been on a ski holiday before, I would have to pick the winter sun. we are actually have a winter sun holiday in Dec to Hurghada and I cant wait, we’ve not been away since last year.

Winter sun every time, the lousy weather gets me down so I’d love to jet off to somewhere sunny! 🙂

I love the thought of bathing in sunshine when it is cold and miserable here!
