So, as you’ve gathered from the title of this post, I’ve continued to merge my blogging and modelling career (the latter borne from the former!) which still makes me pinch myself by the way, and have been signed as the face of beautiful boutique baby and maternity wear brand The Essential One!

The Essential One are the only baby brand that focuses solely on baby essentials such as babygrows, their mantra being ‘Things you really need’, quality pieces you can happily have your baby dressed in all day long.

A little reveal of my new role with them actually came out in Yorkshire’s biggest paper The Yorkshire Evening Post on Saturday, but I wanted to write about it in more detail here and host an epic competition one lucky mum-to-be or new mother, to celebrate.

The Yorkshire Evening Post

I must start by writing that I honestly do not for one moment take anything that comes from this blog for granted, yes I work incredibly hard but I wholeheartedly appreciate all that has arisen from my career as a pro-blogger, for myself and for my little family too of course.

To do what I’m so passionate about as my job, that works around my children is a real privilege and this is such a wonderful next chapter for me.

Without sounding all Miss World on you (Mrs World maybe or Mum World-I wish), I want to thank all my fabulous readers for being so loyal and (sorry, I’m about to get all soppy now) for supporting, reading, commenting, championing and truly inspiring me. You lot rock!

So let’s go right back to the beginning when I first ‘met’ The Essential One-

I actually featured The Essential One, just after Alexander, now 2 1/2, was born and I’ve kept all those perfect tiny starry and spotty baby clothes to this day, now carefully wrapped up in tissue paper and tucked away with any other precious baby items, in case I ever have another child, or to pass on to my brother when he hopefully has kids one day.

Going through old posts sure has brought back lots of special moments and memories, just look at Alexander as a newborn in his spotty sleepsuit and striped blanket. What a stylish start to life hey!

And that hair! No wonder we called him baby Elvis!

…I tried not to cry re-reading another post I wrote a few months later, Besotted documenting the love I had, and of course still have, for my little ‘baby’.

And just look how little he was as well!

Alexander

How utterly dreamy are those grey and navy star print sleepsuits?! So perfect for my big brown eyed bouncing baby boy.

The Essential One

The Essential One are all about simply stunning, understatedly chic pieces for your baby and these pictures remind me of such precious times.

Second-time motherhood made me feel truly empowered, stronger than ever, more fearless than with my first son Oliver, as many mothers feel second time round (with greater confidence) and those early months in particular were a complete and utter joy.

Wrapping Alexander up in the softest, most snug of outfits, comfortable yet cool meant ‘easy-to grab and change’ items (so important with little ones) that never compromised on style or quality.

The Essential One

And today, the range remains true to that ethos with exquisitely designed, super-chic, eye-catching prints, in both a classic, and vibrant palette with a focus on soft 100% cotton, in a mostly unisex range- it quite honestly was and still IS my most favourite babywear brand out there.

The Essential One range

I’m absolutely honoured that founder, Karen has asked me to be their ambassador and face of the brand meaning I’ll be modelling on official shoots for the company- sadly sans bump so not in their gorgeous maternity wear but with their beautiful baby models-(… this new role is already getting me broody) and I will be blogging and vlogging for them on YouTube and on their own blog, as well as hosting exclusive competitions, insight into the ‘behind the scenes’ of the company and previews of their latest collections.

To say I’m thrilled is an understatement. Working with The Essential One alongside my ambassadorial and modelling work for luxe baby brand Nova Harley is a dream come true, and frankly one, after two kids, I never thought would become a reality.

Thank you again to my readers, followers, likers and pinners who support this blog, and me, endlessly and know that when I endorse a brand, you can 100% trust in them too.

I would never recommend anything I wouldn’t use myself.

Now onto this incredible competition to celebrate my news.

The Essential One are giving one lucky Honest Mum reader this glorious, breathtakingly beautiful £300 baby clothes hamper.

I am a midwife in London and as a result meet many mothers who are going through difficult times for a variety of reasons, and those who have lost their babies. These products would be shared out to make a fabulous gift for those who are disadvantaged and a lovely keepsake for those who have lost babies xx
