Dark Cherry and Strawberry Smoothie

cherry and strawberry smoothie

It’s safe to say we’re a little bit obsessed with smoothies in this house, guzzling them, and also styling them up for pretty posts pre-slurping of course.

I had to share this happy maker of a recipe my husband Peter and I like to rustle up in the summer months when dark cherries and bright red strawberries are seasonal and sweet (it can also work with frozen fruit in the winter though).

Peter’s photography as always, is just divine don’t you think?

Healthy, bursting with vitamins and vitality, this dark cherry and strawberry smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a snack to keep energy levels up during the day.

Almost too pretty to drink. Almost!

And my milkshakes, I mean smoothies bring all the boys to my yard. By boys, I mean my sons. They love them!

I love that even if I’m running short on time, I can drink this for breakfast and it will keep me feeling full until lunch. I like to make vats of the stuff and keep it in the fridge to save time in the mornings!

  • A large handful of strawberries
  • A handful of cherries
  • 3 ice cubes
  • 125 ml/ 1/2 cup of water/apple juice/ coconut milk if you fancy it a bit creamy
  • 1 teaspoon of maple syrup depending on how sweet you are like (I’m sweet enough) 😉

Whizz it up in a blender/smoothie maker and enjoy!

Strawberry and cherries – the perfect combination! So delicious! Didn’t really need maple syrup, just added half a banana and it tasted great.

I love a good smoothie and this sounds great. I like using a Greek Yogurt bas having one for lunch. Keeps me going. Either fruit flavored or chocolate with coffee or peanutbutter. I’ve never tried cherry with strawberry, this is the perfect time of year for it!

I love smoothies but have never thought to use cherries. Love the sound of this almost as much as I love those mini milk bottles you’ve served them in!

Thanks so much, my clever husband snapped them after I rustled up the smoothie and guzzled it. Team effort right 😉

Yay smoothie without banana! I think that’s all you can taste when it has banana in. This is my kind of smoothie and I love cherries, sounds and looks delicious 🙂
