It’s safe to say we’re a little bit obsessed with smoothies over here, guzzling them, and also styling them up for pretty posts pre-slurping of course.
I had to share this happy maker of a recipe my husband Peter and I like to rustle up all year long. We also use frozen fruit too which is picked at its freshest point (and helps prevent food waste).
Peter’s photography as always, is just divine don’t you think?
Healthy, bursting with vitamins and vitality, this dark cherry and strawberry smoothie is perfect for breakfast or a snack to keep energy levels up during the day. I often have one by my desk whilst I’m working to help me keep hydrated and away from sugary snacks!
Almost too pretty to drink. Almost!
And my milkshakes, I mean smoothies bring all the boys to my yard. By boys, I mean my sons. They love them! So does my daughter, Florence!
I love that even if I’m running short on time, I can drink this for breakfast and it will keep me feeling full until lunch. I like to make vats of the stuff and keep it in the fridge to save time in the mornings!
Ingredients
- A large handful of strawberries
- A handful of cherries
- 3 ice cubes
- 125 ml/ 1/2 cup of water/apple juice/ coconut milk if you fancy it a bit creamy
- 1 teaspoon of maple syrup depending on how sweet you are like (I’m sweet enough) 😉
Method
Whizz it up in a blender/smoothie maker and enjoy!
A delicious, vegan drink!
